The only thing I can add at the moment is that there has been a LOT of developments in this in the last 40 minutes, from your OP stating what you had no knowledge of anything that has happened on yours or your brothers account, to you both having an exchange of tickets from LL and knowing the "loopholes" of how to sign up alt accounts without getting verified "like greifers do"...

It would have helped if this was in the OP and would have saved up time in thinking of reasons why it could be happening...

This has been happening slowly over the past 3 days, i think my brother had to do with the furnation raid or something.

Yeah, I also have a hard time doubting a person named "Hoax" who just so happens to have a griefing, ice cream-eating lesbian brother.

But just imagine the novelty cake at the birthday party.

you need to change your ip address and put a padlock on your computer actually its not to hard to change the ip of your computer but it does cost money and when you do it dont allow him access use a mechanism to lock the keyboard and password protect your computer in the bios and using windows (windows sucks theer is a simple way to get around passwords but it doesn't hurt)

If your brother is a self proclaimed griefer sharing computers which him is a mistake if they can isolate you ip address which on a lot of high speed accounts is not hard then your computer is no longer usable in sl unless you take measure to change this

in other words you need the ip of your router changed and possibly of the computer changed so you need new parts

myself my computers are set up so they each have two ip's beacuse I have been blocked for silly reasons in other situations on occassion ie: my voip went nuts (no one informed me of such and the company responsible for upgrading the firmware didn't and it broke internet connections with constatn requests. I got no emails saying that it was constantly pinging and requesting to refresh its connection at the change of the year but I did get a "banned" for several days. I had to go to the voip provider chastize them and get them to change the ip addresses of the machines (send me new equipment) write a letter to the isp and update the firmware on the new routers and tell me in writing signed in blood they did it) so it is possible to change your ip address if need be.

probably changing your router will fix this if your avatar is not banned that is. If your avatar is not banned (and i'm assuming not because your posting to this forum) then you will then be able to accss the game. The fact that you are letting your brother continue to access the computer however will not make Linden Lab unblock you so basically your brother can'tuse your computer for playing second life.

Okay... yes, yes... we understand that you can't get into SL at present and that it's a bad bad thing possibly caused by another person in the household... however, we can't provide certain solutions as, in the event of future griefing, it might be considered an exploit and cause the person who elaborated on how to go about it to be banned.

One possibility, as you're both (hopefully) over the age of 18 would be to move to opposite ends of the Earth. That way you don't have to take any heat about his actions in the future.

He tells me it's just for throw away accounts, and not because he likes ben&jerry's or the L word.

Yeah, we all understand why he'd be upset about getting banned. Due to his own actions of disrupting the Second Lives of other residents and crashing sims it's not like it was his fault. He just happened to spasmodically smack away at his keyboard while pondering a line of dialogue on The L Word or possibly from Cherry Garcia-induced brain freeze.

Hoax, if your post is legit you should now terminate your brother with extreme prejudice. A lifetime ban from your computer and monetary compensation for all your SL stuff that you are about to lose seems appropriate. Shame on him and his griefing butthole buddies for attacking FurNation.

If you are lying, then I'm glad you got IP banned. Good to see LL doing a sweep to crack down on the rampant alt abuse.

MY brother isn't going to be using it, or my computer for a long long time. looks like he needs to get used to console games (maybe he can crash them instead of SL?)

You may have gotten this answer already but here it goes:
i too have gotten that reply, and my solution to it was to reboot my computer, then do a clean reinstall of the game, make sure you get that folder in Your program files s well and delete it too. then reboot your computer again. that should take care of that.in my case it was a glitch..however if you continue to get that message make sure you keep sending in the support tickets..squeaky wheel gets the grease...i hope that helps though and keep your brother off you puter

Oddity: The Hoax Zabelin account was born 6/25/07, so is not much older than the alleged brother's alleged griefer accounts. I can't help wondering about the choice of first name myself...

I love "little brother" threads, they always make me chuckle.

As an admin on a couple different islands, I'm always amazed at how many "little brother" excuses I hear from griefers. "It wasn't me, it was my little brother, can you unban me?" I think it's in the griefer handbook, or something.

I have a big brother and a younger sister (yes, we are all adults) that are residents. So far they seem to have done nothing that I know of to embarass me.

Wonderful! I suspect that my sister would do quite a bit to embarrass me if I let her, despite being only two years younger than me, which is why I would never ever under even the most outrageous circumstances let her use my account. At least this particular "little brother" thread doesn't say the brother was using the same account, though most are along the lines of "my little brother broke into my account and got me banned from everywhere".

Then again, since my sister and I are adults with our own families and our own respective households, we also don't share an IP address as the OP seems to be indicating. If it's true that the little brother did "Bad Things"™, then I have to wonder a little bit about whether either one is an adult.

OTOH, it is true that some people never grow up. "Little brother" could in reality be 29 years old, and scared shitless at the prospect of turning 30. Juvenile pranks online are a fun, safe way for an "adult" to reaffirm his/her youth.

Not that I believe for a milisecond that little brother in this case is a day older than 16.

Didn't see this mentioned as I skimmed though, but there is also the possibility that no one did anything wrong.

I know 3 people now that have gotten their computer "banned" by mac address and NONE of them did anything wrong.

Either there are a ton of network cards out there using duplicate mac adddresses or LL's method of blocking them is quite error prone.

In every case a call into LL (A chore yes) solved the problem.
