Dear Rhaorth: It’s us again: the Lindens. We haven’t written lately because we’ve been awfully busy, what with the nice kite-flying weather and that new brewery that opened down the street. Plus, with California still ok on medicinal marijuana, a lot of us have come down with a nasty case of “glaucoma”.
Ahyhoo, it has come to our attention that you have started a thread in some sort of forum that we may be associated with called “Resident Answers”. We had no idea until today that there were actual forums dedicated to us, and we are flattered, although we are concerned about the title of the forum. It indicates to us that those pesky residents might be looking for answers again, and that just never ends well.
This thread of yours has grown to an unwieldy size. As Philip says about big stuff, “Man – that’s big.” We understand that at some point, perhaps in the first post, you actually wished death on this leviathan of a thread. While we abhor violence, we tend to agree. We could lock the thread, but that would take us away from our important business, and today is Mexican Sombrero Thursday. There’s tacos and really big hats, and M Linden has promised us that the really big announcement will be that we are having an actual, Honest to God mariachi band! We’re beside ourselves. Torey and Robin are arguing about whether the really giant guitar is better than the itty-bitty one, and Zero is trying to translate the words to La Cucaracha using his babbler. Magellan is nowhere to be found.
But we digress (el digresso! Heh…sorry). We are leaving it up to you to fix the mess you have created. It is up to you to ensure that every single person who has posted in the thread deletes their posts until there are none left. Please refrain from overburdening the PM system. Simply contact everyone who has posted and politely request that they begin deleting their posts. Once the thread is empty, simply delete your OP, and there will be no problems. We expect that, since we have the friendliest residents this side of WoW, you should have no problems.
Please let us know when you have accomplished this task, and please hurry. Once the tequila kicks in, we are unlikely to be able to respond to any messages you send us, unless you are concierge-level. It has, of course, been a pleasure helping you.
Love, hugs, and VIVA LA REVOLUCION!,
Pancho Villa Linden

From: Yosef Okelly I know, Love. You know how when you lose someone close, you can feel guilty for feeling good for awhile? I think my wife broke past that last night. Letting go of the grief is not the same as letting go of the person. It's a better day today than it has been in a long time. Yes- I understand- when my dad died- the day of the funeral- afterwards.. we sat around and just were in a daze.. one of my brothers went in the back yard an started collecting stuff my dad had left behind- he was big on collecting things people might need one day, my dad was (euphemism for he had too much crap)- my bother and I started laughing uncontrollably- he said Dad had only died to avoid cleaning the mess! We laughed an it was a relief- then we cried and he said to me- he felt bad that he had been laughing just then.. So yes- I understand that feeling. When you come back- I will be here- no hurry..time is long Be well.

From: Maggie McArdle /me cleans up stuff some nosy rifflers been rifflin through as i say: The Mist was more about human nature than anything. the scary part was it only took less than 24 hours for the craziness to begin. i love the movie though! Short story, from his Night Shift collection i think. Yes,it was very disturbing to see how people acted. The end was so sad,I cried. I never cry! ETA-I read Nightshift,I don't remember that story....but then again it was a long time ago.

From: Maggie McArdle here here! the one that made me turn on lights was "IT". the book was way too intense and was the only one i stopped readin for a bit to "get it together"! i also a gree with the DK series. and i'm so looking forward to the movies. Christine also freaked me out a bit. the mother/son story was called sleepwalkers, and hey were an ancient catlike race that fed off the lifeforce of young virgins. ironically they could only be killed by cats. Pet cemetary..it was the kid that did it for me. /me snags some of that coffee Yosef brought and buckles down to study....no more goofin off... Oh IT was an awesome book. The movie ALMOST did it justice.

From: Trout Recreant heh - Attila the Hun's Diary. A romantic tale of love, life and one man's search for self meaning amidst a sea of blood, gore and violence. Told from the perspective of one of history's most reknowned genocidal maniacs, this sweeping tale shows a softer, more vulnerable side of the man we know only as the murderous leader of the Mongol Horde... Those were actually sort of fun. Now I guess I have to buckle down and get to work. Let me see what I can come up with. is this what they're paying you for at the office? LOLOLOL i LOVE your new job!!!

From: Yosef Okelly I'm making a desert for tomorrow's family BBQ at the in-laws. I'm thinking of making a cherry cheesecake. What would be cool is if I could find something to make the crust with that was blue so it would have a red white and blue cheesecake. I could always do blueberry if it had a red crust ... Maybe a raspberry marbled cake with blueberry topping and I wouldn't have to color the shell ... Anyone have a suguestion? if yo umake your own graham cracker crust, you can easily color it with blue food coloring.

The only movie that's really made me scream in the theatre was "Poltergeist". That thing pegged every single one of my worst childhood fears.
The only book that ever did that to me was "Hannibal". That final scene with Lecter, Clarice, and their "dinner guest" left me with gut wrenches and shivers for more than a day. I never could bring myself to watch the movie.

It was the kid in the bathroom in that movie, where his tooth braces started whipping out and surrounding him. That's what did it for me. /me shudders.
