Oh God. This is the first I've heard of this. I was lucky enough to meet him twice (he had a house near Marina Del Rey so I'd see him in local restaurants). The first time I didn't disturb his dinner, but as he was getting into his car, I drove by and said "Hey, George, thanks for all the laughs." He waved and smiled. The other time was at a casual breakfast place. Someone asked for an autograph and after I asked him if it bugged him that he didn't know everybody, but everybody knew him. He just shrugged and said, "Not really". A very sweet man. Goodbye George. Thanks for all the laughs. p.s. My son was born in Saint Johns, the hospital he died in. Wow, what great memories. He seemed like he would be one of the most down to earth people you could meet. He had such talent, but seemed meek. Yeah, it is really a sad night. Goodnight Maureen.
