Plus you are much closer to Las Vegas than I am, that's important.
When the kids were still kids we used to shuttle two of them to and from there to their other set parents in Las Vegas. It's a 5 hour drive if you don't get caught up behind a big accident in 100+ degree (F) blistering sun like we did one morning for three hours. At that we were having a better day than the people in the wreck.

Thanks!

I'll be staying. One of my highest priorities when choosing a degree program at the outset was that I be employable in southern Arizona.

Damn, I think I'd hafta see a quarter mil annually to be even TEMPTED to go any place colder than Tucson.
When I was in the Tucson area in February all the snow birds were saying how great it was to be in a warm place but I was freezing and eager to get back to the coast.

Much as I want to, I need sleep tonight so I can go spend another day sitting around a hospital with dad, making sure he's being cared for correctly...

As much of a cat as I am, I must have a little of the lion in me, and loyalty to my pride - I look out for those that matter to me.

Time you will never regret spending this way. :) You and your dad are in my thoughts and prayers.

It's still lovely, Kaimi! Is that an orange or a grapefruit tree?

Come right on in! The backyard is through here, and you probably noticed that the front yard could be improved too... Would you like a drink? A snack?

It's a lemon tree. We also have a lime, an apricot, and a peach. My mom, my husband and I all used to spend a lot of time working out there and it looked pretty good. Then my mom got older (and eventually passed on), and we got busier and now we pay a nice crew to keep the paths cleared and the neighbors from circulating petitions...

:) My husband gets the credit for the health of that tree, he researched which one to get and planted it with lots of compost.

I ran to my fridge to check the same thing! Good news! I also found some chorizo to chop up and add to the vegetarian omelet! Sausage makes vegetarian food sooooo much better! :p

Mine too.
Joseph , I spent that last year of my Dad's life visiting him in Hospital Rooms, the final month or so, he didn't even know I was there. But I still cherish the time. It was well spent.
