OK- briefly speaking of politics --- now i realize the health reform thing isnt overwhelmingly popular even among their own crew (/me hopes enuf dont like it that it doesnt further socialism in America) Anyhoo - today i heard thru a third party something soooo deranged you know it's gotta be tinfoil territory.

Not sure what right-wing nut-case said this originally 'cause i did NOT hear it with my own ears- but - I am very sure it cannot possibly be true and thus just kind of makes any of us not behind the current gang's agenda all look like nut-cases too.

It is alleged that one of the things in this bill is a euthanasia clause or pill old people can choose to take rather than sit around and wait to die 'cause the health care will be so picky and only young healthy individual will be eligible.

I really hate it when i hear such stupidity- makes anyone with half a brain think those not behind the current admin are all idiots- Worse part is when it gets bandied about as truth which is how i heard it- yeah right- this country may be slipping into dementia but i doubt we have opted to slay the oldsters- heck that would take out more than half of Washington!

We were at the massive San Diego Comic-Con. I had hoped to meet up with Kaimi, but alas, it was a working vacation for us, so that'll have to happen on another trip.

The general science fiction group I belong to occasionally sends out notices about readings and discussions, but when I go I can never find them (though I see the green dots) and there's no one around to help me. It doesn't take much to discourage me back into seclusion.

i can't really be considered a lurker or this post would result in a gold star. discerning, maybe. yet i still felt at least a slight rubbing of my bottle with this post...

Heinleiners was one of the first groups that i joined, and it's one of the few that have survived mutiple trimmings (as i've been known to note: i don't even have room in my groups to join the "25 Is Not Enough" group...)
sadly, the Heinleiners group is fairly much a dead group, at least communicationwise. i just went through the group member list a few days ago (yes, it survived yet another trimming) and saw that many of the members have been online recently, so, not truly dead. two years ago, there was an hours long discussion one evening where a member had offered up a large portion of land in the sim they were in for the purpose of building a tribute area for Bob. a lot of ideas were tossed around, including the possibility of contacting his wife to, at the least, have her blessing and approval on it, perhaps a few words for a plaque if not an actual appearance. as with so many ideas and possibilities, no one took the reins full on or pushed, and it all pretty much petered out. sadly, as it would have been located in a perfectly named sim: Undiscovered.
perhaps new blood would be what the group needs, though...

on a related note, the first airship i built (in an SF vein), before i knew about the prim limits and physical vs. nonphysical flight, was a passenger/touring ship, with a portrait of Robert Heinlein in full uniform mounted on the cabin wall. if i ever get around to getting the scripts i truly want, it will eventually be launched...
