Did a little shopping on Rodeo Drive today. Where the heck did my driver go?

You look so at home there.

I has a sad :(

Airship Outpost has closed. That was one of my favourite builds in SL: a big, floating, apocalyptic/steampunk mall, with blimps.

I found a few old, pre-Windlight pics of it:

Today Stage 17 at Le Tour De France was possibly the most difficult of the 3 week tour. 169.5 km (105 miles) from Bourg-Saint-Maurice to Le Grand-Bornand. There were four category 1 climbs and one cat 2. (The lower the number the more difficult the climb.)
There was a ton of strategy and many agendas for the different teams and riders through-out the day. It was a day for the climbing specialists to be at their best and the sprinters to pray they could make it to the finish line before they were disqualified for taking too long.

Team Saxo Bank wanted their race leaders, Andy and Frank Schleck to put a lot of time on Team Garmin's Bradley Wiggins, the guy who started 3rd overall today, because they know he will do well in the individual time trial tomorrow. Garmin's plan was to keep Wiggin from falling behind the Schlecks or losing any more time on Team Astana's 1st and 2nd place riders, Alberto Contador and Lance Armstrong. Astana's plan was to keep anyone from moving ahead of those two and their teammate Andreas Klöden, who started today in 4th place.

But before they got to that part of the race, on the first descent of the day, a surprising thing happened. The current leader of the Sprinters' Green Jersey competition, reminded everyone that he is also about the best down hill racer around. Thor Hushvold of the Cervelo Test Team got out in front of everyone else and managed to stay away over the next two climbs to take maximum points at each of the two sprint points spots on the course. Thor's nearest rival for the Green Jersey, Mark Cavendish, has proven to be about unbeatable in sprint finish situations, so it was a good move for Thor to pad his lead today while Cavendish was falling behind the main peloton. As soon as he had collected those points Thor faded fast as well.

It was very exciting all day with many dramas being played out on the road.

But on the last climb of the day an elite group had left the others behind. First Frank Schleck attacked and was followed. Then when the others were still recovering from that burst of exertion his brother Andy attacked and only Frank, Contador and Klöden were able to catch him.

Lance remained down the road behind Wiggins as he was being pulled up the hill by teammate Christian Vande Velde. Their team, Garmin, came to the Tour hoping that Christian had a chance to get on the podium – he finished 4th overall last year. But his teammate has proved so strong that Christian has switched to the role of super-helper working very hard for Wiggins.

Meanwhile up front with what seemed to be a bit of poor judgment Contador attacked the Schlecks, they were able to keep up with him and only his own teammate, Klöden was left behind. So it was two against one from then on.

Eventually Lance and Liquigas rider Vincenzo Nibali were able to ride away from Wiggens and catch Klöden, soon Wiggens took over his own pace-making when Vande Velde fell behind.

The Schlecks began taking turns getting to the top and on the 15 km descent to the finish. Contador could be seen apparently assuring the brothers that he would not try to win the stage. He did not let them gain any time on him though, and at the last moment after Andy launched Frank over the line, Contador slipped between them to make sure there would be no time gaps.

Thanks for passing me my plate, looks great. Today is my last day before a weeks vacation in Palm Springs. Damian can you dial it down some, there, it's really over the top with the heat thing. My husband is being an asshat about me taking my laptop to Palm Springs, afraid I'll be sitting on SL all day. I wouldn't do that, we'll be with a bunch of family members, I know I have to be social. /me cringes. Still, if I have a quiet moment or 3, would be nice to just slip inworld for a few and take a deep breath..........this issue is still on the table, wish me luck.

/me shakes his head.

Silly cats! Those bottles are clearly made to be knocked over so you can lap the milk up off the floor.

Anyway 'night forum folk. May your dreams be of chocolate and poetry and curling up with your favorite person.

Knocking over bottles is really a dog thing, Weston. Quite naturally, the kitties would try their best to be neat.
