I rather dislike that thing "LMAO". I always see it as someone shouting very loudly "LAME-O" with the accompanying placing of the hand against the forehead to create an L for "Loser". I know it means "Laughing my ass off" and not LAME-O, but I dislike it.

I'm mildly curious how mild or strong this might be coming off, as my initial planned post involved (snip) rough language that I do not normally use. This thought about LMAO is something I've thought for a while, but at the moment it is just something I can rant about as I feel like ranting and raving.

It is somewhat interesting, to myself at least, that so many things that are not intended for wrong or evil end up setting me off. Like there is one particular forum participate that likes to quote someone and then the first thing they write is their name and something involving chuckling. I assume that is not done with any ill intention, but I had initially put that person down as a troll or the like because of that tendancy. It got on my nerves.

That annoys me also. (trying to be vague might lead to looking up to the next message up, which is not my intention).

As a former zoomer, this was pretty sad to read:

http://www.csmonitor.com/2009/0714/p02s01-usmi.html
•The Air Force will train more officers on remote-controlled aircraft than combat fighters for the first time ever.

•Last month, the service's prestigious weapons school graduated its first group of students who know more about munitions for unmanned aerial vehicles than they do weapons for fighter jets.

•And last month, the first group of officers with no formal Air Force pilot training graduated from an Air Force school.

So here is a verse for TSGT Lynch and SGT Hardy, the two men who got me through Basic Training.

Off we go into the wild blue yonder,
Climbing high into the sun;
Here they come zooming to meet our thunder,
At 'em boys, Give 'er the gun! (Give 'er the gun now!)
Down we dive, spouting our flame from under,
Off with one helluva roar!
We live in fame or go down in flame. Hey!
Nothing'll stop the U.S. Air Force!

i love to see someone write LMAO, because i always think it's SO BIG that the person is probably (at least) smiling in RL. at least, that is what is happening to me behind the moniter. :D

Okay, so I was speaking somewhere this week, and this big burly guy in the audience started challenging me. I didn't lose my cool. I tried to talk with him, but he jumped up, called me names, and started toward me. He was really angry. But he wasn't heading for me, he went out one of the doors that were near me.

It wasn't scary really. It was a surprise. But the names he called me really bother me even if they aren't true.

It's thrown a shadow over the past few days. I'm trying to shake it off. I know it will pass but it was disturbing.

I know that's all kind of vague, but I can't be clearer.

Don't worry about me. I'll be fine. I'm just not my usual ebullient self.

I like squid, but what's better than the squid itself is the ink. Pasta made with squid ink is good and so is risotto with squid ink.

.

I just fainted, reading this....calling to mind one of the best meals I've ever had. :)

Oooh...and black walnuts!! They make good pasta, too. :)

Thanks - but eventually (when he is calm) I will try to talk to him.

In many ways it was a good thing that it happened, it showed up the bad side of a certain group. Unfortunately, my family was there. My younger sister freaked out (she's okay now) and my mother started crying after. It was pretty tense.

And thanks for the other offers for help, Brenda and 3Ring.

I agree. I find myself cracking up a lot online when talking to my friends, and a little lol just doesn't cut it sometimes.:)

Mari...you look like you are having the time of your life at camp! I'm jealous.

Aww!

Really, I think someone could/should do something like it f'r 'dult avvies. Might take a bit to build the following, though.

From: Maureen Boccaccio
ooh, wonderful pics, as always. I love the one of you writing in the sand.

LOL, Mari...YOU were sneaking around, trying to build, after lights out?? I should look sternly at you, missy! *fake glare*

Thankoo. That was a fun one to take.

An ya, I can't even claim I was sleep-building. But the flag for on top of our cabin wasn't gonna build itself! ;-)

I was waiting to hear a chorus of denials. Now I may have to consider your telling the truth.

Um....

I like Chris, but I send all my naked pictures to Trout.

And he doesn't have Maureen's either, because he asked for some a few posts back.

So it's not EVERYONE.

Woo! This is some Friday! That "Lifers" thread has gone off into the bushes. But that Peel guy seems to have a good head on his shoulders, doesn't he?

At work all sorts of weird problems are popping up. Obviously we got a grip on them, I wouldn't be posting.

To tell the truth, I kind of like it like this.

Also - I got some worried notes about my posts - I'm fine. I just wanted to get that stuff off my chest. Everything is cool. I feel a lot better after telling you.
