Does it surprise anyone that I have at least one item in that room?

My photo studio has hello kitty backgrounds in it. I don't recall ever buying them.:/

The toaster (it even toasts hello kitty faces on the bread!)

These two are absolutely precious - they really capture the cute innocent fun of a kid.

Thankoo! That's really what I *like* to get in my piccies. That's my part of SL!

From: Rhonda Huntress
This brings back some happy memories, not only from when I was a kid but even more so of watching my daughter play.
Thanks for the pics. They are always a delight and the best part of Monday :)

Thanks! Glad I can bring back happy memories! :-)

From: Maureen Boccaccio
oh wow...I love this pic, Mari. It brought back so many happy memories of playing dressup with my mom's stuff. :)

And yay - thank you for your weekend update - your 4th of July weekend was a good one for pics! :D

Thanks for putting out the call for your lemonade stand! It was great to see you and your brother. :)

Glad ya'll liked the dress up piccie an stuff!. It was a happy memory piccie f'r me too!

It was a good weekend f'r, Maureen. I took just about 40-50 over the weekend. Totally skipped piccies from my friend Molly's party, a series of piccies of a glitch that set the old, old SLRR trains running (or trying to), and other piccies from fireworks and Professor Antfarmoffski's Flea Circus.

But jes 'cuz, here's another from when I was playin' dress up.

Glad you stopped by f'r lemonade, too! We got a few more folks after you left. Always fun to do that sometimes, jes to see who'll come by. Best part was when Teagan came over, and offered "a Linden" for the lemonade.

Hey threadfolk.

I have something I'd like to get off my chest, that's been eating at me for some time. I'm not sure where else to say it other than here, so please forgive me for getting all emo here in the thread. I hope you'll understand.

This isn't directed at any one person in particular, but at the Cartel gang as a whole, whom I've known and been close to for almost as long as I've been in SL. Some of you are some of my oldest friends in world.

Because of that, I know my transition from Madhu to my de facto main avatar Carter has been hard for some of you who will always think of me as the blue girl. I'm very sorry about that, and I am especially so to those of you prefer Madhu.

But I really can't run my SL according to what other people want. My entire SLife is with Carter and I just feel much more comfortable and honest in that avatar than I do in Madhu.

Being Madhu makes me grouchy and uncomfortable and that doesn't do anyone any good, least of all the cafe (which suffers from having a host who is pissy and can't wait to log out!), or any of my friends. I'm sorry that you miss Madhu, but that's just how it is.

This hasn't been an easy transition for me; just as trying to live a non-cafe SL as Madhu was doomed, trying to run the cafe as Carter isn't quite smooth either. And there are even times when I miss the blue girl myself. It's truly bizarre how invested we get in our little characters and how much our interactions with other residents in world are shaped by what we look like, what clothes we wear, and even what names we choose for ourselves.

But I ask you all to please try to understand; it stings to feel that being true to myself is a source of disappointment to my friends.

Thanks for listening, and I return you now to your regularly-scheduled threadiness. :)

/me gives Madhu/Carter a HUGE hug. I'm happy for you...however you choose to be in SL. I'm thrilled every time I get a chance to chat with you, and I'm really glad you've found a "home" as Carter.

*hugs you again*

*hugs* Madhu/Carter.

You must be true to yourself and your real friends will understand and either welcome it without qualms or adapt quick enough.

I s'pect it's a bit of a transition f'r your friends, too -- but the folks who care for you will be there for you.

Me? I think yer pretty cool. Being true to yourself is the most important part.

Madhu, you have always been someone who has spoken their mind, and held to their principles unwaveringly here in the forums. There is no reason to be any different in world. If being Carter is WHO you are than that is what you should be. Anybody who is disappointed or gives you static over it is not your friend anyway. We are all here to be what we want to be for whatever reason, reasons which are no one's business but ours. The few times I met Madhu were a delightful experience. I have yet to meet Carter. I see no reason why it would be any different. They are the same person underneath the pixels. A big hug to the both of you. :)

This was me my very first night at the hangout. I think Feline gave me the PJs and the bear. I'm sure she took the picture.

Oh Seven, how cute.

Come, sit in this chair, won't you?

... trying to run the cafe as Carter isn't quite smooth either.

If you need a hand, just ask.

I guess I am lucky; I have always known you as Carter and Madhu. There is no transition or change from my POV. All I see is a sweet lady in SL. The name over your head does not change that.

I have met Carter, but not Madhu, but still...........^^^THIS^^^..........have heard great things about Madhu, always, and know for myself Carter is cool. Reevaluate friendship with disappointed 'friends'. People need to be accepted for themselves, not the avi one is wearing at the moment.
