That is sad news. :(
For anyone who doesn't follow the news, Farrah Fawcett was fighting cancer for the past several years and was filming a documentary about it.

The documentary aired a couple of weeks back. It was heartbreaking to watch, especially if you've lived through having a family member go through what she was living through, as I did (mother). I wasn't a huge fan of her as an actress, but had great admiration for her in other ways. Very sad news indeed.

Coming from across the street (see? I already know not to say SLU --) I am used to the vote buttons on posts for "Thanks," "Laugh," "Agree" among other things. It feels strange when someone says something to me and I can not respond there. I do not want people to think I did not read or appreciate what they said. On the other hand, this tread is growing fast enough as it is so I don't want to bog it up it a post jut to say "lol."

So ... do we LOL every time or do people just assume that we read the post and liked the comment?

i acknowledge the posts and add a little extra if i can. note my ridiculous post count.

i try to not repeat what others have said, so sometimes all i reply with is "this" or "i agree"

i have found it extremely critical to acknowledge the pictorials, because people get their feelings hurt if you dont acknowledge their creativity. having said that, i dont expect anyone to acknowledge mine, as i am just sharing something i think others might enjoy. ... or, i'm bragging (most likely #2. draw your own conclusions) :p

RIP Farrah Fawcett 1947 - 2009 :(

:(

I've always admired her for showing all those critics years ago that she really could act...good for her.

I must admit in all honesty that when I post pics, it is a blatant grab for attention.

Would you post the SLURL or name of the Oz sim, pretty please?

Personally I walk a fine line between vanity and attention whoring.

At least I think I do.

I think you have seen all my pics from over there.
Here's a link to my flickr site I use for picture posting. ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK. Some cartoon nudity.

If I can make this work ...
http://www.flickr.com/photos/thehuntress/

Fashion, Fetish and Funny pics in no discernable order. Also a few others that will mean nothing but were used in a post somewhere for some reason.

Awesome pics, thanks for sharing!

Back to the earlier topic; I try to keep up with the thread and I read all the post (yes, even his). There are many post I'd like to reply to but rarely find or take the time to do so. Of course any post directed at me or something I've posted I'll try to acknowledge.
Other than that my replies tend to be somewhat random.

Hi Claire, I've been going through that, too, for awhile now. For me it's the 'Driver stopped responding and has recovered' message. I freeze, screen goes black and that message pops up. Have to close it and start over. I was getting it the other night so bad that I couldn't stay in 5 minutes. Amara, who is on my Friends list even commented on me going on and off ever few seconds. Was awful but has been that way for awhile. I updated everything, including the Nvidia driver, to the latest of 'everything'. Nothing helped. I am on wireless, which I know is part of the problem, but, I always have been, and this problem is fairly recent. So as a last ditch attempt, last night, I rebooted the router. I didn't crash once. Was SO nice. Been ages since the router was rebooted. Good luck Claire, it really interferes with your 'predictable (or, unpredictable, as you like) SL experience and is a major drag.

I had that problem and switched to a Nicholaz viewer (1.19.1). It had happened ever since that update, and even the cool viewers get the same issue. Nicholaz is the only one I can use without it crapping out the display driver thing. Since I stuck to the Nicholaz I haven't had that problem - might be worth trying for you.
The main problem I've had the past couple of days isn't the display drivers. It's just crashing 'normally'. I just get the crash message and it shuts SL down. I have had to keep all my preferences low, clear cache and everythign, and nothing has helped so far, but it's only been happening the past coupla days. Before it was fine.
I'm just about to try and see if this reinstall is gonna help any. If not, I'll just have to put up with crashing 5 times in an hour.

she eventually caught me, hopped on the back of the bike and made me crash into a wall. it was super funny

shortly thereafter, i hooked up with Amar and we went horsey riding

totally fun night. i ran into all kinds of friends last night. and it probably my favorite since i started SL. :D

I'm trying to recall when last I had such a night. exploring, laughs, people. Cannot recall.

I know there was a time in 2007 (might have been 2008, but think it was 2007), where I drove around with Joseph, a raven (I was an osprey). Very funny antics, exciting.

Course there was also the time I went flying around with Trout at Weather channel island. First time I meet Trout. He's been too busy ever since then. That might have also been in 2007.

There probably were other occasions ...

I'd probably have more if I could get myself to go exploring again, but every time I do, I notice that I'm by myself and stop.

Hey, some of you guys may want to take a peek in Immy's CS/TOS thread. Looks like The Providers have thrown some more curve balls again.

I've been trying all morning to reply on that thread!! The Forums don't like me today!

Ah, I see why I tend to wander by myself.

From: someone
Your Character’s Alignment

Based on your answers to the quiz, your character’s most likely alignment is Neutral Evil.

Neutral Evil

A neutral evil villain does whatever she can get away with. She is out for herself, pure and simple. She sheds no tears for those she kills, whether for profit, sport, or convenience. She has no love of order and holds no illusion that following laws, traditions, or codes would make her any better or more noble. On the other hand, she doesn’t have the restless nature or love of conflict that a chaotic evil villain has. The criminal who robs and murders to get what she wants is neutral evil. Some neutral evil villains hold up evil as an ideal, committing evil for its own sake. Most often, such villains are devoted to evil deities or secret societies. The common phrase for neutral evil is "true evil." Neutral evil is the most dangerous alignment because it represents pure evil without honor and without variation.
