My *house* is ready but the new one for my skybox isn't. So I'm scrambling for a little extra showpiece.

Did you get my IM this morning, Josh? I couldn't send you a notecard because SL wasn't letting me save notecards!

.

Yep I got your IM, .. I offline IM'd you back. No problem with making the text changes. The only thing is if you added another LM for the skybox, I'll need you to send that to me inworld. Thanks :)

Hrm. I think I'll start with... *points* ...that shelf there. Then I'll start on Amara's Bloody Marys ;)

This band were played on Radio 1 today, and I fell in love with the first song. The Low Anthem: "To Ohio". Real shades of Simon & Garfunkel, circa "The Sound of Silence". If you need to relax, this should do it -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGxaRpN5Eb4

Also their song, "Charlie Darwin" -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jQHKdNAWQo

/me thinks I need to order some CDs.

Nice tunes!

/me puts everything on the bar. Help yourself sir. I can provide a bucket if you want to pour everything in together? (It works well at the parties I've been to.)

Oh I love the Art Box installation!!! I had quite the nice chat with the owners one day and brought a whole bunch of friends to check the place out. It was super fun.

I've been having a load of fun over there for weeks now. Sadly, I think I missed the Simpsons installation. I met someone over there that had it in her profile, but it doesn't seem to be there any longer :(

Question about etiquette
06-25-2009 07:05
Coming from across the street (see? I already know not to say SLU --) I am used to the vote buttons on posts for "Thanks," "Laugh," "Agree" among other things. It feels strange when someone says something to me and I can not respond there. I do not want people to think I did not read or appreciate what they said. On the other hand, this tread is growing fast enough as it is so I don't want to bog it up it a post jut to say "lol."

So ... do we LOL every time or do people just assume that we read the post and liked the comment?

You could always follow 3Ring's example . . .

Pep ( . . . and respond to just about every post with a content-free one-liner)

PS The overriding rule here is "If you can't say anything nice . . . just say something to the effect of "me too" - or what the hell are you doing here anyway?)

You should do what you feel like.

I suspect that Pep will not complain about your "me too" posts.

It is impossible to respond to every post here. Just one of the things we all accept to keep things going.

Um... anyone that thinks it's ok to not reply and just assume that someone else knows you read a post will not reply to this post. :p

I say... when in doubt.... LOL. LOL early and LOL often.

Why didn't you move the "not" into the first line? viz., "You should NOT do what you feel like."?

I'm hoping to get 75500. Did I?

Wow, what a morning. I slept late and lost over an hour that I could have been in SL. I grabbed my laptop and pulled it into bed with me. Then the phone started ringing like mad. My mother is comatose in the morning so if I was quick I could get it before she really woke up. Instead I got all flustered trying to put the computer aside and stand up in the same movement. My bed is kind of high and my legs got all wrapped up in the blankets.

Mom was already knee deep in conversation by the time I got there. My little sister was also up, so I had to make her breakfast.

It turned out the phone was for my mother anyway. Her friend had gotten all excited about who knows what and forgot that it was only 6:30 in the morning.

ANYWAY

I get back to the sandbox in SL and realize there is a problem with the skybox I'm building. I have only just enough time to fix the error and extend the rafters for the rest of the roof and the dormer.

I *thought* I was going to finish the whole roof, raise the second floor and put the first floor underneath, put in the little roof for the entryway, and take pictures.

There never was a possibility that I'd finish by the tour on Saturday, but I want to get it to a point where you can see where it's going.

Tonight and tomorrow morning I have to get those things done.

I *did* set up the parachute jump and buy two trees for my platform. One has a swing for two. It turns out to have many romantic poses in it, but it doesn't swing!

In case you didn't notice, I'm *very* excited about the tour. My house is listed just after Gabriele's, so can just walk east when you leave hers (turn left when you walk out her door) and you'll get to see the tree cafe, Stonehenge, the ships, Brenda's house, and then mine.

.

LOL on your morning's story. You really should have a blog, Seven! :)

And I'm sorry I'm going to miss the tour, but cannot wait to see all the pics!

Don't worry about missing stuff, even if it is directed at you. Some days you just can't catch everything. Most here in this thread understand, and won't be put off by not getting a response.

What's all this 'morning' business? It's 2:15pm here and I've just finished today's shift at the coalface, having got up at 4am. Never mind breakfast; I'm pondering something chilled and alcoholic right now :p
