Logic is a bit of a stretch around these parts :D

Is anyone following the cow tongue thread? It's making me laugh out loud at work and my employees already think I am a fruit-cake.
This is just too funny... http://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-14206

And I did read once, here somewhere that being on a laptop does make a difference in how you see that feature.
I do SL on both a laptop and a desktop, and not only is the laptop LCD screen dimmer, but also the onboard graphic chips do not render at all the same as a desktop card. Particularly true for lighting and sculpties, in my case. Most laptops are that way, though some higher-end ones do have beautiful big bright screens and can accommodate a separate graphics card.

One thing that can help is to hook up a spare monitor to the lappie - that at least will do away with the dim lappie LCD.

Do you think they will be wineproof and coffeeproof too? That is a requirement.

Glad you added "you ladies". My reputation would be slipping if people thought I was sophisticated, elegant or poised. :D
Well, I might not have ever chosen any of those 3 words to describe you, but you are always the "perfect gentleman" to all the ladies that come to the Hangout.

Hera was out in the gardens earlier- here is a little picture. (Terrible grafix on this machine- tried running a soft filter over it to blur some of the pixelization but meh- not great art)

Really.....a seperate graphics card. I'll have to see if mine is one that could do that. It's a new HP and DOES have a beautiful bright screen, but still doesn't render those 'personal lights' very well. Thanks.

That sounds a lot more uncomfortable than doing it on the kitchen table or countertop.

:p

I did too. I wanted to add a comment that maybe they should asign Oprah Linden to the issue... but then I decided JIRA isn't the place for my sense of humor.
See? Sometimes I DO have a filter. :p

I didn't know we could pay the avatar "Exchange Street" -- did you? That would be so much easier (inworld) than running around looking for a terminal!
Just be careful when typing... there was a big hoo-ha a while back about someone opening an account with the name "Exchange Streeter" and scamming a bunch of L$ before the account was removed by LL.

Wow, everyone has been ultra chatty today. Read it all, too much to even respond to so I'll say say you're all fabulous, fascinating, take great photos, lead interesting lives, love those boots, awww that was sweet, and thanks for all the fish :D

Here is how my day has gone.

Had to be at work at 10am. Get out of subway around 9:40 am, with some time to grab breakfast at Starbucks. As I'm sitting there, check cell phone for messages. Find one from current office manager saying "don't bother coming in, my computer has develped a "hellacious" computer virus - don't know when it will be fixed". Then I noticed she attempted to call while I was in the subway.

I'm in the freaking city sitting across from the office! Cost me $20 buck to get there (let alone the $6 for breakfast :p )

I call her. Sincere apologies, blah blah blah, doesn't know when it will be fixed, so sorry but she just got there or would have called sooner. You'd think she would say come on up and I'll find something for you to do since you're here. Nope.

So, I went to the Greenmarket at Union Square, bought lots of fresh veggies, more herbs to plant on the deck, and a challah bread to make french toast for breakfast tomorrow. Headed back to Penn Station for home.

BTW, I did NOT see any men's weiners :p Or any weiners for that matter. I did see about 20 gorgeous firemen at Penn Station, however, as something was going on there when I arrived but they all seemed rather nonplussed, joking and left rather too soon for me to get any photos (I thought some of you may have enjoyed seeing some of NYC's finest, and they indeed, are fine looking men).

What a wasted day, and I'm wondering how many days it will take to get rid of this virus? I worked for a company for 20 years and they never developed a single virus on any computer. I'm barely there 2 weeks - and I'm positive it's due to all of her internet shopping. which she has no qualms about doing all day long, even with me sitting looking over her shoulder. I suppose this bodes well for me as far as being able to post here, but geez, what is she accessing that her computer got that screwed up that it's unuseable?

@Elora: Just for the record FDNY are New York's Bravest. NYPD are New York's Finest.

A lot of them are pretty neat, too. :)
