My Sunday was... interesting.

I got to go to my niece's first dance recital.

On the good side- it was only 2 hours. My sister's old recitals used to be 4 hours long. Talk about TORTURE!!!!!

On the bad side- I thought I had gotten out of going to those things when my sister quit taking dancing lessons. 16 yrs of Tap, Jazz, Ballet, and whatever else.

Hello Threadophiles!

Lovely morning, albeit somewhat brisk for mid-May here in NJ. Missed the beach party due to technical issues here. Kind of one of those roundabout things that happen due to the purchase of a "does-it-all" printer (we were lacking one). We discovered that in the move from our temporary apartment to here that both of us could not remember the password for our network. Ghosty thought he'd written it down (I know he did too) and we remembered that we made it something we'd both recall but damned if all these months later we could find the slip of paper or remember the stupid word.

Of course, in order to to put said printer onto the network, because it's wireless, we needed this (there were some other issues at play as well). And, because Ghosty has such little time during the week and I need to bring my resume with me to an Unemployment meeting this week which I'm required to attend, this thing must get set up. Let alone he offered to work yesterday so by the time he got home, network went down immedately and that was that.

And, he never got it accomplished. Problems cropped up, it bested him 'til 3 am. So, tonight he'll have to give it another attempt and I'll keep my fingers crossed or I'll be running to the library to print the resume out on Wednesday.

/kicks all machines in house for making me miss the party :p

In the interim, I have to give this woman a telephone call this morning that I emailed my resume to last Thursday. I have no heard back from her. I don't know if she has been busy, needed to run it by her superiors or, is just plain rude.

See, whenever I'd receive resumes via email I'd always write the person back. If it was unsolicited and no job available I'd say a generic "thanks, we're not hiring at this time, will keep it on file, good luck in your search" sort of response. In this instance, I was specifically requested to send the resume, by someone who knows both of us. So, you'd think she'd have the decency to respond by saying she received it and would be in touch (or not, whatever!).

On the other hand? I also know that when we really did have a job being offered and had lots of resumes to review, we didn't respond right away. However, I just keep coming back to the fact that mine should have stood out since I put in the title ".....Sent Per....." which you'd think she would have noticed. Meh. Who knows?

I'm just venting. You may return to your regularly scheduled days :o

Yea, that. I just was sitting on the couch wondering if the window was left open when Ghosty went to work and it wasn't! Crap - there's like an artic chill creeping sliding in all the cracks and even worse? My coffee has gone cold  . I think I might need to turn on the heat today again :(

I'm in short sleeves and quite comfortable. What's this about cold? It is a nice 53 degrees. With a high of 64 (and a low of 49).

Goodmorning All,

Finally getting some decent weather here for most of the week. Last week toronado touched down killed about 3 people. Friday, had some rotating clouds that didn't touch down.

As I was driving home, I was constantly amazed how so many people were standing or sitting under a tree during the storm.

Anyway, going to get my tickets for Stevie Wonder:D He is awesome:)

"Allegedly" and with due cause for suspicion ;)

Whew!

Nice to meet you the other night, Elora.

AND I ran around Lexxi's little city. I felt like Reese Witherspoon in "Monsters vs. Aliens" with some Matrix thrown in (jumping roof to roof).

You too Seven, and I do hope that Zaphoid has no memory of you taking advantage of him ;)

I also wonder if he is still under the Hangout? When Ghosty and I left, he was still there and that was long after you were gone!

So last night, I was having this serious conversation with my baby boy kitty. I was telling him how this chica 3Ring makes funny posts and stuff... and that her LOLCats were the funniest. I asked him if I could take a pic of him just for her and he... turned... tail... and...

Mari, I can't tell you how much I was excitedly anticipating this week's issue of Mari's Weekend Update." :)

I knew I wouldn't be able to attend the festivities, due to RL commitments, but I also knew you'd be able let me feel as if I was a part of it...through your recap and your pics. :) Thank you.

Congrats on winning the trivia contest...I'm SO glad all went as well as it did with the Bay City anniversary celebrations...and HOLY COW! I'm really happy so many people came to celebrate with you.

A perfect ending for your wonderful weekend:

Thank you again, Mari. :)

Glad you like it! It was quite a weekend. I tink it helped that the event was on the login screen, too. At least made it a lot more visible.

It was really amazing to me to see the turnout. I figured it would be big, but I did not expect it to be that big.

(Take that "Bay City Fail" thread from a month or two ago!)

Being the DJ at a Cartel Party is usually a gratifying experience. Several times in the past, I've hired DJ's who were so overwhelmed by the response, and the tips, that they wouldn't take their pre arranged fees.

thanks for all the kind compliments on my flannel jammies. i've been meaning to make jammies for about a year, as i had promised a set to someone. i don't think those are the correct color, so i'll be making yet another set much more "burple-y" for her. i won't sell them though, they'll be just for her. :) i do also have other ones made, just haven't created the ad boards yet.

sorry you are all having cold weather. it hit 100 here yesterday, and i couldn't be happier about that. i love it when it's hot! i might whine a little, but i still love it!

today i am breaking out of the ordinary and wearing pink (in RL). feeling 'soft' today. i hope my gentle appearance doesn't fool anyone. oh, and again- cat butt for the win! :p

and sorry i missed parties yesterday. i don't typically go inworld on Sunday. that's family day here in my first life, and my favorite day of the week. :D

I hated missing the Cartel party due to a rl obligation (family baby shower) but glad you all had fun. It was definitely a 'weather weekend' in rl, around the country, wasn't it. I mean, I guess, if earthquakes are considered' weather' also. We had a 5.0 last night, centered in L.A. area, which is where I was, for the family party I attended. I'm a Cali native and am used to them, but this one was a pretty good shaker.
