Kaimi, Hallelujah is the song I'm currently working the kinks out of to sing "live" at our annual BBQ this year....love it!
I wish I could sing well enough to perform in front of others. You knock 'em dead!

/me stands and taps against the wine glass.

In a private ceremony this evening, the wonderful Hera Stand and I have joined together as partners. :)

/me raises a glass in honor of Hera and Damien.. Warmest congratulations, you two. I know your marriage will only increase the joy you find in each other.

/me smiles and wipes a little tear of happiness.

I love this. But every time I think of Leonard Cohen I have to hear "Hallelujah"

Oh absolutely!!! That was my very first Leonard Cohen song :)

LOL...what I lack in talent, I make up for in perserverance ;)

It's also fun trying to decide which one of the 9,217 versions of it I"m going to sing...or whether to incorporate pieces from each. That whole "Holy Dove" thing irritates me. Alison Crowe sings it Holy Ghost, which I think it the best choice of words, when you're talking about the near-religious experience of $ex. :)

Dear Allie and every one who has offered their congratulations- a heartfelt thank you from both of us.

It was a lovely ceremony and I want to tell you all what a special man is Damien. He took up building in order to make that beautiful arbor for us. He made the table and the cloth on it as well as various items used in our vows. He taught himself animations too and crafted us a beautiful evening.

When I tell you, my friends, how lucky I feel and how loved and cared for- you can be sure I am not even scratching the surface.

Amara is very fortunate in sharing her SL with so many good friends and the years here have been filled with love and laughter and yes, some tears. My life though, is only just begun.

Thank you all again for all the good wishes.

That's a fun song to sing. :)

One of these days, I keep telling myself I'll figure out how to hook up to streaming, and descend on an open mic night somewhere in SL. Haven't gotten the nerve up yet.

*snif* I've got to admit, Christians have good music. Almost makes me want to be one, just so I can sing along. :)

Thanks for the link. I think the biggest thing to take away from this is that LL is publicly "sanctioning" their adult user base. Which tells me that SL is not going to go (entirely) Disney. I know there are some who will find the changes unacceptable and leave, but I actually see this a as a positive development for residents, overall.

But only if they can figure out how to age verify correctly and make the damn thing actually work inworld.

They can never 100% age verify. That discussion has gone around and around enough already. But even flawed tools provide the common resident with some protection. Making it work inworld is a technical problem, at least. Bottom line though: this announcement could have gone very differently, and a lot worse, given LL's stated goals re. the teen grid.

Oh that was amazing. I'm sitting here in tears.

On retrospect, it doesn't seem to be a Christian song at all, really if you listen to the words. It's just a gorgeous tune. Thanks all, for reminding me of this!

Lovely. Hadn't heard that before.

My favourite is Jeff Buckley's album version from "Grace". Spine-tingling guitar on that as well.
