From: Travis Steamer LOL, I always thought it was the personality that mattered, BUT you do have to draw the line somewhere. Don't misunderstand that, Travis, although I phrased it badly. If someone is RPing Star Trek all the time, or Tombstone...odds are pretty good that I'm not going to be interested....simply because we have no commonality.

Now what's wrong with Tombstone? *One* of the best modern westerns IMO, but I understand what you mean, hard to have a conversation(or whatever) with someone while they are giving you the Spock mind meld.

Nothing wrong with Tombstone OR Star Trek, or any other RP. They just aren't worlds I'm versed in....and I bet they'd feel uncomfortable at a runway show, as well.

Speaking of husbands...
Last night Mr. MacM was feeling poorly and went to bed before midnight... so I logged into SL. I spent some time looking at skyboxes and houses, hated most of them, ran into Kat at the hangout and bought a house from her (to use as a skybox)...
Just as I was nearly done showing her around my property, I heard a voice in RL: "I can't believe it! I can't believe it!"
I jumped a foot. Usually he's a sound sleeper, but tonight... no.
Every so often (like once a week) I've stayed up late inworld.
I'm afraid this means goodbye to that.
Grrr....
I'm not sure what the fallout will be... he usually blows up and cools off quickly.
And I'm pretty sure the issue will be addiction.

Lol! When I first got to SL men were bothering me all the time. It was like real life was when I was younger. Now mercifully it never happens anymore. Which is kind of odd since my avi looks better now than it did then and I'm not really sure how to give off the "don't even bother" vibe in vr. But maybe I've subconsciously mastered it anyway.

From: Key MacMoragh But luckily, last night she didn't show. So, at least I was doing something innocent, and only looked startled and not guilty. And thank god, it will make it easier to talk about, because sometimes I'm an awful liar. I'm not sure what the fallout will be... he usually blows up and cools off quickly. And I'm pretty sure the issue will be "addiction" and not "what were you doing?" I'm pretty sure you don't need any of us to tell you that this isn't going to end well. Sounds like you may have to curtail your online time to only when he isn't home....or give it up completely.

Well besides the special friend thing... why should she have to give up her online time for him?I'm sure he has equally annoying habits/addictions. If he is in bed sleeping, what is wrong with her being on the computer? Personally I would have told him to shove it. But then again I am divorced,so don't listen to me.

Pep (Why weren't you tending to your poor suffering man and mopping his fevered brow if he was ill?) If he is anything like mine he hasn't a clue HOW to be sick!!! When one is sick one should be ministered to, attended- fluffel dpillows, etc- not my husband- Leave me alone! is what I hear when he is sick so i do just that. Fine!

I'm sorry to hear about your predicament, Key. My RLex-girfriend(only lasted two months, so I don't know if you'd call it that) spent alot of time on SL I thought, and I didn't understand it much, and it caused problems for me because she was using my computer. We got into a couple of times, but it was really no big deal now that I look back at it, but we weren't married either. I'm not sure how I'd handle your situtation, but I hope things turn out okay for you. Holler if you need anything or just need to talk.

Yeah, Tombstone is full of quotes that I love to use, especially the one where Doc(Kilmer) looks at Billy Bob Thorton and says "I forgot you were there". There's a few people I'd really like to use that one on just to let them know I really don't care for them. As for Star Trek, it's been years since I've seen one of the movies, and I like them, but I never really got into the TV series and spinoffs.

Another favorite quote, "You tell 'em I'm coming, and I'm bringing hell with me! ..." Yeah- kinda seen it a few times... But big Trek fan here- of all of them. And scifi in general.
