Wow.. STILL going!?

I haven't looked at the forums since...mmm...Wednesday. I was sure it'd be gone, or at least buried down into the topics, almost dead or something...

But nope! Still going strong, 3.6 thousand replies... wow. Well done!

I guess it is just me.. but a fountain should spray the liquid into the air only to splash down into the pool below.

Guess that would be messy huh?

That would make it harder to coat strawberries and such in the chocolate evenly.. that's what that's for!

/me has one at home

I love chocolate fountains so much..mmmmdelicious....

Wonder if I could fill it with nacho cheese... god I love nachos....

I use real cheese. The canned stuff is bleah unless you're at a baseball game. I'm disturbed every time I see the giant can that just says, "queso" on the side. I'm convinced "queso" is Spanish for "carcinogenic molten plastic". Not a fan of those weird pickled jalapenos either.

I absolutely adore those big ginormous cans of fake cheese that just about every small Mexican restaurant in California has...god love it so much..its..just..omg YUM!

Though I do like nachos made with shredded cheese, I can honestly say that most of the time, that fake cheese is what I want, not the real stuff.

But the lumps of jalapenos or bugs or whatever they are..nonono..I hate lumps..in like anything. Thass why I don't eat soup much.

/me raises her hand.

I wouldn't dream of using fake cheese for anything. Except American for grilled cheese.

I'm a cheese whore. I'm one of those people who go to the cheese counter at my local wine store haranging them what's new and interesting and need to try everything before buying. Have you ever had a piece of aged 4 year old Gouda with those nice little pieces of crystallized bits in them?

/me swoons!

Don't get me wrong, I love cheese, of various kinds, my favorite probably being Camembert because of that nostalgia of 'Mom, this is gooood!' when I first tried it when I was like 4...

I love cheeses, love the variety, the flavours, the smells, the shapes, the colours..everything!

Just for some reason, the fake stuff is exactly what I need for nachos. It's just amazing to me for some reason!

ETA::

I think atm I have about 8 different cheeses at home, and plenty of breads and such to put them on too!

QFT. I'm not a cheese snob by any means, but I love really good cheese. There are a few of us cheese people here that I know of. A true, handmade artisan cheese is one of the most wonderful things you can have.

As for nachos, though, I'm perfectly happy with basic shredded cheddar or jack or something similar. It doesn't have to be fancy - just not runny Velveeta.

Keira - I grew up in the South San Joaquin Valley in California, and I miss those little Mexican places so much it hurts. The Pacific NW isn't exactly a haven for good Mexican food. Taco Bell is delicious, but it is NOT Mexican food. Why can't people up here figure that out?

I lived right by Berkeley until I was 15, and even there were plenty of awesome little mexican places..farther south just mean even more and even better... I miss them too, soo much

Moved to Oregon..best thing around here is a little place, good food, but the nachos use some cheese I've never tasted before, and I'm afraid to ask XD

Huge, awesome burritos though

Yep - going inland helps, too because once you hit the agricultural areas, the Mexican-American population goes up, which means a lot more mom and pop types of restaurants. I grew up in Visalia, which is about half way between Fresno and Bakersfield. If you've ever been through there, you know why I left.

Probably Tillamook cheddar, with or without Jalapenos in it, yes? For eating cheddars you can't beat Vermont's Cabot ones, but for cooking, Tillamook is outstanding. Melts like a dream.

Tho I do understand what you mean about nachos and cheese food!

The best-tasting mexican food I've found in the Pacific Northwest always seems to come out of nameless carts on city streets. In fact, there's a burrito one right around the corner calling to me now ...

/me would kill for a Taco Bell but hasn't found one in her new town yet.

Seriously though, having lived 100 miles from the Mexican border nearly my entire life, I'm deeply saddened by the lack of decent Mexican food way up here by the Canadian border, and who ever heard of Canadian food?

Morning Threaders....

No fake cheese on my nachos please! I like the real stuff, shredded mild cheddar and jack. For real good snacking cheese, try manchego, or lovely sharp, crumbly Vermont Cheddar.

Though you all forgot, Trout and Mac, (/me pouts just a little) this morning was the great cat caper. Thank God I had a friend lined up for backup!

Really, I'm fine, the doctor says in 3 or 4 years the scars should be almost invisible... Oh, and the sticky footprints from the bottle of Karo syrup I dropped and broke should come out of the carpet, and the furniture, and my clothes...

Pass me the tequila please, quickly, if you don't mind.. :p
