VERMONT -- People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals sent a letter to Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, cofounders of Ben & Jerry's Homemade Inc., urging them to replace cow's milk they use in their ice cream products with human breast milk, according to a statement recently released by a PETA spokeswoman. "PETA's request comes in the wake of news reports that a Swiss restaurant owner will begin purchasing breast milk from nursing mothers and substituting breast milk for 75 percent of the cow's milk in the food he serves," the statement says. /me giggles at the phrase "human breast milk". It's everyone geting in their last bit of silliness before the Hit Squad........I mean...New Moderators come on board. Hope you are OK, Punkin. We have some nasty weather coming our way starting tomorrow too. Unfortunately, I think it's something nastier than that. There are a handful of people who harbor real animosity towards these forums. Again, it's unfortunate, but the majority come from SLU and either want to prove that they are the cool kids on the playground or that they are superior because they have been in SL longer than most of us. So, they post this crap, knowing that it pushes the limits here and that it isn't generally acceptable in this community in the hopes that it will be the downfall of RA. That downfall either makes things go the way their general discussion forums did here a while back, or, if they weren't around for that, they can take delight in the destruction they caused here, and go back to SLU feeling smug about the damage they caused. Or in one case, they can't go back to SLU because they already shit in that nest and got themselves banned. It's unfortunate. I have people I really consider friends over there, just like I have people I consider to be close friends here. I hate feeling torn like this. I think this interforum squabbling is buck stupid. _____________________
