Yes. I love that. Nothing beats standing on the platform at the train station, and seeing a happy faced tourist as the train is coming into the station...and seeing that look change as they suddenly find themselves pushed into the path of the oncoming train......

:D

Good morning, Pep! (or rather, good afternoon, for you :))

And for those who do not read French (she says sheepishly, knowing her French forebears are shaking their fists at her), here's a website with a few different translations of the poem, "To the Reader":

http://fleursdumal.org/poem/099 .

If you speak 2 languages, you are bilingual. If you speak 3 or more languages your are a polyglot. If you only speak one language you are American. :(

wierd...I must be an American masquerading as a UKer lol.

I'm guessing the language of 'Claire-ish' doesn't count.

It's actually a song by The Kingston Trio. I never cared much for poetry in and of itself.

I found this to be the case on my first visit to Italy. I could not speak Italian, but fortunately, I could get by in French. The local fellas would first speak Italian to us, then tried Spanish or French. If you could not speak any of those, their response was.."ah...Americana."

Of course, I expect an Erudite such as you to know such things. ;)

I inherited a lot of my Dad's Kingston Trio and Clancy Brothers albums, and they made me cringe when he played them when I was a kid. Now I love them, and have pretty much found them all on CD.

Wonderfully dark Phia, though I suppose I should be disturbed considering the actual historical event that took place.

/me does not know the history. care to share it here?

Thanks, the hair and skin are new. So is the outfit - the necklace goes with the bikini, there is also a bag and a hat that go with it. Oh, and glasses.

This is the "best" one I can find that shows hat, glasses. Bag is on also, but hard to see. The shoes did not come with the outfit.
