Believe it or not, while there is such a thing as a daddy-long-legs spider, what most people CALL a "daddy long legs" is not that spider, but rather is properly called a harvestman.

Daddy long legs (both the real ones and the misidentified ones) are most decidely NOT "the most poisonous spiders in the world", as a certain urban legend claims.


A "daddy long legs" is not a harvestman spider, it is a crane fly.

Schrodinger's metaphor was flawed though: it is perfectly possible to test if there is a cat in the box without opening it. Just shake it violently and then listen.

The violent shaking represents science.

I noticed it too.

I hope it was AR'd because of the favorable Hangout mention and not because it talked about kid AVs being welcome there. I would welcome a PM from whoever did that AR clearing that up for me.

Maybe we should have a kid's day at the Hangout. I throw the idea out for inworld discussion; doing it here would only get this thread AR'd.
