Why is it that most people in these forums (definitely not this thread, but most others) are being just flat out mean to people who start threads? It seems like everyone is just so pissed off at the world & wants to attack anyone who starts a conversation. I've been reading a lot of threads lately to be informed with SL topics, & it seems like most of the answers are so hateful. Is anyone else noticing this?

SOME people, yes. MOST people, no. Trouble is, the snarly ones sort of stand out. Even a few of them begins to look like a crowd.

Fortunately, the eye and ear can be trained to filter out crap. Your Ignore list may also prove helpful.

Some people spend so much time sitting in front of their computers, they begin to act like them. Rigid, cold, and humorless. They should step out into the sunshine a bit more often.

They would burst into flames if the forum vampires wandered outside into the sunshine.

SPOCK: Page 1000, post 30,000. Captain, these readings are extraordinary.
MCCOY: Jim, I don't understand why this thread is still alive. It shouldn't be possible!
KIRK: Gentlemen, I want some answers!
UHURA: Captain! The thread is signaling!
KIRK: On screen, Lieutenant.

(A TALL, SINISTER FIGURE clad entirely in black appears on the main viewscreen. His breathing is raspy and mechanical)

TALL, SINISTER FIGURE: Luke....I am your father.

UHURA: Sorry, Captain...wrong channel.

Priceless. I have bookmarked this post. :)

From what Ive read so far, the hype would lead one to believe it's gonna be a big whooptidoo. I want a booth for my artwork, that's all. :)

I am corrupted.
After glancing through the past few pages, I prepared to go out on site to take some photographs for a marketing piece.
Passing my colleague's office I absently said "Can I haz your hardhat?"

The look on her face made it clear that I need to spend less time looking at lolcats
:D

PS Grats on the 30,000 Maureen

Ohhhh, Brann...you owe me a new monitor!!! :D

I have stopped myself, on any number of occasions, from starting a sentence with "me wants xxx"

OK, how stupid is this?

The bank we've had for several years has become more and more unable to meet our needs, so we accepted bids from several others this spring and decided to switch to another when our fiscal year ended June 30th. Now, we still have approximately $100K in the old bank to cover outstanding checks, so we need to be able to access their site in order to track and manage this money. This morning, my boss tried to log into the site to see where we were with the outstandings...it absolutely refused to recognize his password and then locked him out, so he called the 800 number for help. They claimed not to be able to find him anywhere in their system, despite the fact that we've been with this bank for 5+ years.

So, he comes into my office about 15 minutes ago and asks me to log in to check our balances, and it does the EXACT SAME THING. They've obviously locked us out as some part of us leaving, despite the fact we haven't actually closed the accounts yet. I mean, wtf?

outrageous!

LoL thanks for all the answers everyone! I liked Brenda's the best.

I'm having a slow day at work. Just sitting here watching my underwater frog swim like crazy in its little 1 gallon tank on my desk. He's so cute!

Well, I don't read a lot of the other threads, but where I have seen this happen, it seems to be the same person(s) over and over who are the crabbiest.

For SL Residents in the Northern Hemisphere...I could attribute it to the heat...:D

We used to have guppies in a small tank. Blue ones. But they kept having Teh Sechs and soon there was a population explosion.
Office mates wouldn't let me add a golfish to even things out.

We have a very small office. On our floor, are 2 other small offices. My next door neighbor used to bring her adorable little dog to work each day, until he kept running into our office, knocking over our garbage cans and eating all the paper out of them.

Cute little bugger, but he was getting sick, umm, yes as dog to be cliche, coughing up bits of tissues and what not all over the place; so she had to ditch that idea :(
