is there a chance i can come an d visit the stream? my neighbour wants to create one but has no idea on how to do it and my expiriments at it failed aswell, would love to give him a small pressent :)

Oh, sure, but I'm not finished with the water. I was experimenting with splashes and splishes and the splish script appears in the air instead of the water. Moreover, the water is not perfectly placed yet (as I need to swap it out) -- but the basic design is finished and I can't take credit for it ;-) Sensi Bliss did the necessary terraforming and water design.

Search for a Group called "Cho no Chashitsu" -- that should have the coordinates listed. Again, I repeat, it's all still under construction, but it's getting there. Enjoy!

I just visited the new continent, very beautiful, lots of open water :)
I was getting excited I could own a plot there in the near future until I bumped into someone on one of the sims. He told me he has placed a bid on all the sims up for auction and he's hoping to get at least 3-4 of them, when I asked him how much he's likely to sell the plots for, to my horror he replied L$25 per sq.meter  and pretty confident he can sell them at that price.
No way I can afford that, for a 8,704 sq.meter plot I will have to pay L$217,600 ($761.08 USD). I guess I'll have to continue renting land for the time being :(

Yes, waterfront was going for L$25 a meter a month ago. He is deluded if he thinks he can get that now. A friend bought waterfront for $20 a meter three weeks ago. Most of the rest of the sim is still unsold.

But maybe he CAN get that much. I just wouldn't count on it myself. Especially given threads like this:

Regardless, it sucks that you can't get sims at affordable prices.

Yeah, what the hell is that about? Land just up from mine was bought recently, it's hillside and someone immediately built a house sticking out into midair on one side. Why not buy flat land to do that? Or build a house that fits the landscape that you must have seen before you bought the land?

Aesthetically questtionable, maybe - but if you can build a whole house in the sky, the well known but unexplained gravitational anomalies of SL also mean that a semi-floating house is OK!!!!

A continent like this I'd keep the way it is save for some dirt roads and a grass airport. It would make a nice vehicle park that most people could play in with 512m viewdistance.

But is it practical? No. ArmA is much better for that particular function, Crysis eventually even more so.

Still, it would be nice to have a large untouched tropical isle like this to romp within SL. It's just frustrating that a virtual world like this has to make tiny 256x256 blocks of land so severely overpriced and most people's reaction to owning said land is to puke neon fullbright garbage all over it.

you could buy a sim for less and make it tropical as you please it would have no garbage on it and would truly be an island

mainland sims just aren't worth insane crazy prices when they start to exceed that of a sim that you can buy outright and control if you want to preserve it buy a private one don't pay 5k usd for a sim that will not perform as well and host less people on it per sq meter

Ah, yeah. No lag and no elbow-to-elbow garbage.

Oh yes. When the last batch of sims came out, I rather enjoyed being able to ride my hourse from sim to sims, enjoying endless vistas of grass and trees.

It was quite nice.

I just put my jetpack, crash helmet and safety suit on and flew round the edge of the NEW New Continent, or what there is of it. I found one water sim that isn't marked even as grey on the zoomed map - still being created, perhaps? It's my ambition to witness a new sim being formed with my own eyes.
