I'm glad you brought this up, Brenda, as I was just thinking about it this morning. I can't for the life of me imagine why turning BBCode off would be necessary for a website upgrade, and even if it was, it shouldn't be necessary for almost a month. There's a paranoid part of me that thinks Torley's announcement was just a flat-out lie, and that there is actually some other purpose (and this feeling wasn't helped at all by the forums completely going offline for me twice yesterday). I don't want to think such things about Torley! On the bright side, someone in another thread pointed out a workaround for links... wrap them in IMG tags instead of URL. For example, here is the link to Torley's announcement:  ETA: Apparently doesn't work with JIRA links for some reason... perhaps because its HTTPS instead of HTTP? Plus it reverts when you edit your post. |

It came back about a month later, redesigned and stripped down and useless.
