From: Brenda Connolly He he. How appropriate. You've always been on the line between making me laugh out loud, and slapping you in the face. Thank you Brenda. That's probably the nicest thing anybody has said to me this century. Although that is the equivalent of being the world's tallest dwarf, or funniest accountant. Pep (That's the problem with liking cheese and disliking cats?)

Just ask her, from the heart... it'll come to you when you do. http://www.flickr.com/photos/lance_corrimal/2369849244/in/set-72157604285512285/...and a few months later I asked her in reallife, simply in front of my moms front door where we'd been visiting for a weekend... and got the same answer... on a sidenote.... registering for marriage in germany is a serious pain in the arse when one partner is not a german citizen.

From: HoneyBear Lilliehook I tried to tell him that, but would he listen? No! I'll see you in court, Pep. Is that the Register Office or the Divorce Court? Pep (How about we make it the Food Court instead?)

From: Brenda Connolly But it runs a higher risk of heart attack. That reminds me of some advice for the OP. Single men live longer than married men. Pep (It just *seems* longer when you are married)

Do what YOU think she likes, as how you know, estimate her reaction on things you do. As you want to propose to her, i asume you know her very well, so that shouldn't be a problem. If she likes traditional, go that route. If she like modern things, daring things etc, go that route. Just follow your intuition, your heart.. and the rest will follow. DON'T RUSH!!! plan, think, build, arrange, infront.. then do some testing if required.. Marriage should be something special, meaning giving your heart away to the other, comitment etc.. Although many mariages fail within a few weeks, because of the lack of honestly loving eachother, or not knowing the real person behind the avatar (mentally/physically whichever apply). You cannot fall in love with only an avatar, you directly fall in love with the person behind the avatar, since that person controls/thinks/speaks through the av. So, if you want to marry, be sure you actually love the person behind the av, in some way, big enough to keep this marriage last a long time. Marriage is not a game, or an event you do, just like that, for fun sakes... it's special, just like in RL. Anyway, congrats.

To the OP: I would go for the private proposal personally, gives you chance to set it all up perfectly and you can just tp her to a place perfectly set up. Seems more personal as well, and to me it would be more romantic and obviously thought out. Of course if you are absolutely desperate for a public proposal, the places Lindal has said are all really lovely places Congrats

Well, given the subject of the thread, and at the risk of being accused of being unromantic, opportunistic and cheapskate . . . /me goes down on one knee "HoneyBear, will you share my hammock of desire and become my (second) life partner?" Pep (Did I really just do that?)
