and that the easiest fix for being stuck would be to reset the server but no one has bothered which makes the current grid status "online" particularly annoying.

The server?? Actually, there's over a thousand servers..

At times like this, I wonder why they don't do a restart of the entire grid or at least a rolling restart. I know they really don't like to boot everybody off but when they don't, especially after an extended period of pain, it makes me wonder if there's some nasty hardware problem..

WRT the class 5 servers, I'd bet that it has more to do with where the server's physically located. Anybody keeping track of if it's Texas or California servers that are causing the most problems?

well i went on an alt i have in sl and seen my main avatar still logged in so yes the logout proccess is not completing..
i noticed a major amount of packet loss aswell..the 3 hours i'm guessing is when your avatar finally times out from being afk so long ..that or it's still downloading the inventory then times out..

i would hate to see if someone had an afk script running that was working in a situation like this.

I think packet loss is how much your client is losing. The unacked bytes number in the statistics bar may give you a better idea of how the well the server is feeling about the network. Non-zero is normal for a happy server, big numbers (over 1k or so) are not.

Because you remember the downtime instead of the uptime?

Oh well.........but having viewers pulled like this is not a common happening.

Steve is working so much on this viewer, I really can`t be upset with him taking the new client off. There are very strong points that i love about First Look. I can`t really be upset in this setback. Just My personal thought.

Damn I still can't log in with one of my alts. Same old message... Any tricks to getting around this message or is this a server side issue?
