I was getting bad lag; so I did the usual thing and logged out, expecting that if I went straight back I'd get a better connection. Except, when I tried, SL spat me back out again with the message "the system is logging you out right now. Your account will not be available until..." and a time, 5 minutes or more in the future.

...err, wot? Since when was there a 5-minute delay in re-logging? or have I missed something?

It says that to me all the time but I think its just winding me up. I re-log straight away and it always lets me in.

I don't think it would right now. Normally I can log out and right back in. I'm stuck not being able to login and it keeps pushing the time back 5 minutes.

Is there a big problem with the grid
02-12-2007 05:48
As above I logged in and there was really bad lag. So cleared cache and logged out to login again. That was 2hrs ago! Everytime I login now I'm told the region is logging me out and to comeback in 5 mins. Well I've waited the longest now about 20 mins only to be told "the region is logging me out and to comeback in 5mins". I've switched to an alt and had the same problem occur. Anyone else getting this? I note with irony that the Linden Grid Status says the system is fine now after yesterday's problems and has closed down all comments.

02-12-2007 05:53
TRUST ME you are NOT the only ones! I have a new business in a new sim that I am trying to get up and running. I started getting the msg's that creation of on world item failed and decided to log out. that was about an hour ago and tried every 5 minutes since to log back in with no luck.

Guys - there were messages on the blog last night about the issues with the grid. I am sure things will settle down soon, as they normally do after a loaded Sunday. Get in the habit of checking the blog before you try to log-in to see if there are any issues :)

02-12-2007 06:39
Same loggin problem here plus, a friend IM/emailed me that last night all the items in my store as well as the walls in the store were "free to copy"!!!!!! He took several copies of things just to show me that this was really happening. I havent been able to log in to ask him more or to see what the problem might be.

Doesn't help when...
02-12-2007 06:41
The blog says that the problem has been resolved and it hasn't! I mean come on! I finaly got to log in but now I cant TP anywhere. Just like last night! Grid is still slow to a snails pace and you can't TP anywhere. about to say screw it and give up. I mean what I sent over 90hrs on this photography shop already. and now I cant even TP out to other places to get the finishing touches. I am also finding out now that IM's are ALSO not going through to ANYONE including the help desk. I mean come on!

Gillian that was just plain patronising. FYI -

1. I've never had this problem before
2. I read the previous blog from yesterday (note Linden comments things are better now)
3. There was no reason given in that Blog what happened or why and that is nearly 24hrs ago.
4. And finally the Grid Status is telling us all there is no problem!

Surely we are entitled to know what the problem is?

Finally, after 2 and a half hours I still can't login and still haven't had a reply from support.

I had the same problem too. I just kept relogging for about 2 or three minutes (9 or 10 times) and finally got back in. I fugured it wasn't too bad considering it takes longer than that to LAG across my living room these days!

lol

Gillian: People know to check the blog.. the status is right there on the login screen now and I do believe others mentioned here "the blog." What does it say right now? "Grid and website are feeling better now." That is as of *yesterday* so of course people are going to come here and see if others are having issues when the blog says everything is fine, that's what it's here for.

I checked the Blogs before posting on another thread on this same subject,

From: someone
[UPDATE 12:11pm PST] We have re-opened logins. Groups IM’s and teleport issues should subside. Logins maybe be slow as many residents are attempting to re-login at the same time.

No Mention in any of the postings regarding this problem.

I'm also getting this for the past two hours

Last time I tried to login I got this message:
Login Failed. The system is logging you out right now. Your Account will not be available until 2007-02-12 06:18:30 pst
It's past the time given and she is still in there :(

My friend tried live help, she can't even type the question in the IM Box !

Sent an e-mail to support, still awaiting for a reply *sighs*

Thank God she was on a private sim, I manage to contact the owner and she restarted the sim which forced my Avi out :)

It's 11pm here in Asia and 7am at Linden Labs in California. Morning crew will be coming in soon if they aren't there already.

I successfully logged in an hour ago, but the inventory was having trouble loading; some HUD attachments couldn't load...haven't seen that before.

Then tried teleporting...it started, then I could briefly see the destination, but then failure, with an SL error message (which I should've written down).

There were other people logged in...lots.

Then quit and tried logging back in. 5 minute kick messages...and then just time-outs which if left to their own eventually crash the client.

SL is an addiction for some...I'm almost there. Forced abstinence is painful. =)

Still the same problems as mentioned by many above. The system is nothing like it used to be when I first joined (and paid) for SL.

Login probs
02-12-2007 07:10
Well after nearly 3 hrs I've just managed to login! BUT, that was 15 mins ago and I still haven't rezzed. My inventory is virtually missing, can't IM and I can't teleport anywhere. So that was worth the wait! And still no grid update from Linden.

yes - this is happening to me too !!!!

I think for osme reason, when we logged out -for whatever reason - the full logout process failed and we are "stuck" in SL... I think only LL can "release" the AVs to enable us to log in again normally. All my friends tell me (for the last two hours) that I am showing as on-line in SL.... ??????

K - was just trying to help. I don't mean to imply it's not been horrific for me too. It has been. I just figured some might not be checking the blog to see there had been a problem.

I think you maybe right. I got an email from a friend saying I'm currently standing in a casino when I'm presently stuck in a low population piece of landscape still waiting to rez and I notice my alt is still showing as online. If only the teleport would work I could go and have a chat with my alter ego. hehe.

P.S. There is now a grid status update which tells us no more than the previous one of yesterday in either resolution time or cause. But at least I suppose we now know someone's working on it.

Read the blog folks

Linden posted a new message indicating that last night's problems were back again, and that they are investigating.

Expect login problems, tp problems, inventory issues.... sounds like an asset server bug to me.

No issues reported at all in between logging out and re-logging.
