Jig Says Goodbye

Let's make this a good one.
No, I will not tell you who I am. But...

You have been a part of my life since 2006. That means I have shared my private feelings and time with all of you. You didnt see a "Jig"; instead, you *really* spoke to Jig. I *am* Jig. And I think you are all very much who you proclaim to be here. You may wish to hide yourselves or camouflage teh person in real, but I have learnt so much, so much that I really never knew before.

Thank you for sharing your ideas and friendships with me here. Thank you for just being so many minds and souls and loves and laughter and crazy angry frustrating maddening peoiple that are really, really, really people. Men. Women. Maybe even a few teens. People, Just people. In real, my career takes me to so many places and so busy a world - but I always, always came back to *you*.

I shall tell you that in 2006, in real, my agent said to me ""Jig" get a life". This was after a particularly hard year of work and broken relationships. I thought booze was behind me and my obsessions were under control. So, I left his office and stamped back to my home. I'll find a life, I thought. I saw a news item on CNN - "Secondlife - teh new money maker". I down loaded it all. I had found secondlife. I foudn Forums.

Whenever I came on I always wanted to know what Phil, Mari or Gabrielle thought and said.. names just outta teh hat I always wanted to know what you all felt. I was always so angry at so many of you - arrgh! How many times I could lose step in my work when I angered myself over a slight phrase from my nemeses that stung me more than any critic has done. Why is that?

You will never know how you saved me from myself. And all my arrogance and "me, me me".

Because, for me. you were never avatars. You were - and are - people who I have met and argued with and... loved. In my real world my life calls me to perform now. In my sweet silent world of sl, I must say goodbye to all of you. My lovelies. I cannot forgive Lindens for shutting this down. It was a selfish thing to do. They were envious of us all for being so happy.

I will be in world for as long as I can be, taking care of my sl husband, watching over him. I wont post from now on unless I wake up tousled and frenetic to my day - and miss you all too much.

Chris, I have travelling to do, and where I go there is no internet "space" to waste. Real world circumstances dictate I must say my farewells here and now. I will be inworld for a few days but want to say what I need to say as soon as I can. I'll be around a while, but this is probably gonna be "it". My schedule is really tight.
Beside I wanna "own" this thread and say my goodbyes here.
Chris, yes we have had our clashes. But in real I would never have met you and I regret that. If I had not irrittated you I would have failed miserably

Farewell Jig, I am glad we had a chance to talk in-world recently. I said it then and I repeat it now, I was probably far too harsh on with my responses on these forums and my ire was more a reflection of myself, rather than with what you were posting and for that I apologise. Though a lot of your topics and posts irritated me for being at best inane and though I felt you did it deliberately to provoke, I realise now that the provocation was intended to be harmless and without any bad intent.

Jig, you are one of the most exciting people I know. In many ways I have considered you the anti-Weston, or me the anti-Jig. Not in any bad or antagonistic sense of the word, more like opposite ends of the same yardstick or two sides of the same coin who can only vaguely imagine what the other side is like.

Though I come across as a stick in the mud (my idea of a great evening might be to sit down and try analyzing a Beethoven piano sonata), I have always loved and respected your irreverence for accepted norms - your libertine ways as you call them. To me you have become a symbol of the indomitable human spirit and you remain an inspiration.

Jig, this forum was a good medium for you, and you used it, I think, for all it was worth.

I didn't always read your threads, and sometimes you aggravated me more than a little, but I am sorry that the show is closing down.

This forum was a BIG world. It had the scripters and the builders and the texture people carrying on in their part, and the poor survey-makers who now will have no home...

Well, damn it, we were a community! We were all together in this old house. We helped people, and annoyed people, and made friends, and amused each other. There was so much to learn, SO MANY PEOPLE SO WILLING TO TEACH AND TO SHARE.

I'm crying as I write this; it's so damn sad.
