Maybe I'm just being dense, but how do you post on this new linden blog?
I clicked the "log in" link, and it asks for my email and password. There's no link to create a new account. I went to the homepage of what apparently is the hosting service, but the only link there is to sign up to make your own blog.
Is there something I'm missing?

You're not dense. I just spent half an hour trying to figure out how to sign up an account so I can express my frustration on the blog. Ironically, I'm a bit more frustrated now that I've gone through the whole signup process. I finally found signup instructions here: http://blog.secondlife.com/2006/10/06/youll-need-to-be-registered-to-comment-on-our-blog/Seriously, would it *really* be that hard to put a "sign up here" link somewhere on blog.secondlife.com? Just as a fun new datapoint: the blog may not be a good place to express your frustration with LL. I posted a comment there just now, and it hasn't shown up.
I've just been informed that comments on the blog now must be approved, so overly negative comments will not be posted.
On the plus side, I guess this means at comments that are posted are read by a human being at LL, even if they never respond to it.

Actually it was like that before they started this whole registration thing. The STORY is that the moderation was very limited (just for things that broke the TOS basically). Eh.

Howdy Gigs! To post on the blog you need a WordPress account. When going to the home page http://wordpress.com and creating the account, you are given two options: create blog or account. Note that a number of e-mail services (such as Hotmail) are not supported. Either type of account will work but unless you take the "Create a Blog" option you cannot: - Change how your name is displayed (account names don't support spaces)
- Have a linked website (like you could under the old system)
- Change your password
If you have alredy created the account but refused the blog, you can still get the extra functionality by requesting the blog you skipped. You can log in to your account and from the blue bar on the top or somewhere in the middle click "Activate my Blog" or something worded similarly. After you have a blog associated with your account you can access your control panel where - You can enter a first and last name and a nickname, and choose how you want your name displayed from a drop-down list (takes two accesses to the control panel to refresh the choices)
- Alter the default website that will be linked to your name whenever you post a reply
- Change your passsword
If you return to the Linden blog and still can't post a reply you are suffering a problem with cookies that some people (including myself) are experiencing. The solution I found required closing all browsers, loading one and going to WordPress and if logged in, logging out from the blue bar at the top and closing browsers again. Now that you are logged out of WordPress return to the Linden Blog and click the link saying you need to be logged in. From this login page be sure NOT to click "Remember Me". You should now be able to post. There is still one problem that you will experience if you keep your machine and browsers open all day like I do. Eventually you will time out of the service, and the next time you refresh the blog you will go into an infinite loop with WordPress' code accessing a page called remotelogin.php that passes a hash to the querystring. There is no escape (for me) from this until I get a new address in or close the browser. I then have to return to WordPress.cm to log out. I have contacted WordPress support regarding this issue but have yet to receive a reply. Good luck!
