Hey everyone.  As you all know the new feature of voice chat is inevitably coming to Second Life. It is apparent to me that a lot of people on the blog and in the forums do not want to voice chat. Even though I am for it, I'm certainly not going to be talking 24/7. What will be your excuse for not chatting? Be creative; be silly. This may be an effective cheat sheet for the future because nearly everyone in the forums hates it anyways. Here is my excuse.....
Oh I'm sorry, I can't voice. I accidentally sat on my microphone and it was destroyed. 
(Someone in Yahoo told me this once.....and I think she was serious....)

I'm afraid the CIA is listening so I dare not plug in the microphone (irony, this is very close to the truth ). On the internet, nobody knows you're a dog unless you have voice chat (or a webcam...).

I gave up on mics they last about 20 minutes with me i put them down or move them then something happens in the background and i jump up and the cord gets wound round my feet and i just mash the thing up into little pieces. after going through 4 mics of diffferent configurations in a week and spending about 200 bucks for this confirmation of my clumsyness i gave up suffice it to say that even if i wanted to be on voice chat i would maybe last for one session before destroying the mic or headset hence i wont be bothering  |

My attempts to use voice to text are greatly impaired by this sort of thing - as soon as you get the mike positioned properly, something makes you need to get up. Just getting the microphone headset in the right place and coexisting peacefully with my hair and my glasses is painful enough.
