From: Ylikone Obscure Do any of you visit Second Citizen? People there really hate strife. I said something nice about him there once and was nearly beaten to death. In my opinion, a lot of the people who post at SC are the reason SL shut down the General Forums here. Some went to have more freedoms, but given the cr*p I've read on that forum, it makes the ones here look like Strawberry Shorcake and Barney are posting even at it's worst. I'd say most there hate Strife because they were slapped down for being stupid. Too bad, in their case, it was terminal. All-in-all, I'd much rather have Strife and all the other RezMods (who get less PR from being quieter) than have the chaos of that cess-pit at SC. Strife adding humor to threads (Even if locking them) just makes him/her (I still wanna know!!) human. I like humans *hands Strife a piece of pie* ~Jessy

*appears in a puff of smoke and lands on the floor holding a TV remote* "Great now I'll miss the end of 'Gross Point Blank'." *sighs* @RobbyRacoon: Thread Necromancy can fall under trolling, it all depends on the circumstances. In that instance I dropped the prefix out of haste. @Ylikone: SC and I don't mix well, a number of people banned on my watch became mods there (I've always suspected it to be a right of passage). But the past is the past. As much as I would love to say nasty true things about SC, it's against the rules for me to do so in public. (Just FYI: ResMods are not involved in the punishment process, we just present the evidence to LR) @Jessica: SC became popular as the rules started to become enforced on a more regular basis. One by one the old gang were banned or left of their own volition. But they had poisoned the forums, behavior and attitude had been tainted. There were two options, close the forums or continue what we were doing. We couldn't keep up with the work load and nobody wanted to close the forums outright. The compromise was to close the worst of the discussion forums. I don't mind making jokes ever so often but adopting a policy to make it the standard seems counter productive. It seems like a reward for bad behavior. I'm a little (just a little) unsettled that people are finding me funny. I enjoy people not knowing if I'm a woman or a man, it's hard for me to quantify why (one part is: people treat people differently based on sex, I don't want it to get in the way). I don't mind which set of pronouns you choose but i do mind people openly speculating, it's too much like spreading rumors (and I locked that thread ). Anyway, I've gotten complaints in the past when I have posted my opinions on the ends of threads. Adding a joke to the end could be seen as making fun of the topic (and by proxy the posters). It sounds like a train wreck in the making. Anyway I'm going to move the thread to the ResMod Discussion forum it isn't really on topic for this forum (I haven't checked the ARs yet but I did get a PM about it's off-topicness).

He has always had a sence of humor. Problem is people just think they can write anything they want and get away with it. It not easy being a monitor on a web forum. I been one, and we have about 100,000 members, it was nothing like this place . I give him more credit then is due. Because not only does this person play with inthe game but he has to deal with countless crazy and totally daffy people. A toast to...........cheers Usagi

From: Strife Onizuka ... I don't mind which set of pronouns you choose but i do mind people openly speculating, it's too much like spreading rumors... Acceptable, and mostly I was only funning with you (and my own curious kitty nature =^.~=). I respect anyone's privacy and I can agree on wanting to keep that private to deter preconceptions and the like. *hugs Strife* Just for the record, I'll preobably defer to "she" in the future. Not as a "pegger" but as my default when I type (since I'm a she ^.^). From: Strife Onizuka ... Anyway, I've gotten complaints in the past when I have posted my opinions on the ends of threads. Adding a joke to the end could be seen as making fun of the topic (and by proxy the posters). It sounds like a train wreck in the making... I don't think of it as a train wreck, and from all I read, not many others do either. While some ahve voiced their opinions negatively on the subject, I will point out that they are newcommers and not those that ahve become forum-dwellers. As I've stated previously, we may not always agree with you, Strife, but we do (well we try) to be respectful because we do understand the thanklessness of the job. I prefer you adding quips and such at times. I like to know there's a human (or furry) reading things here, not just some automon. One of teh biggest complaints with LL is that they have lost that human touch. I'd prefer to keep it here, not jsut some invisible power that comes and steps on threads without any contact at all. From: Strife Onizuka ... Anyway I'm going to move the thread to the ResMod Discussion forum it isn't really on topic for this forum (I haven't checked the ARs yet but I did get a PM about it's off-topicness). Can I file an AR about people who file such needless ARs? I mean really. If it's not deragatory to anyone, nor violating a rule that hurts the community or a person, ARing it is a waste of time to the RezMods. Moving this was the correct thing to do, but pointing it out to you to do so is a bit childish, imo. A world without humor is one in which I do not wish to belong to. ~Jessy "Smle. It confuses people "

@Strife: *hugs*, just because I feel like it today! (Don't mind if you're a boy or girl, I treat both the same (probably a plus if you're bi....comes with the "orientation" )

Finally a post applauding Strife, even if it is for acting a bit more human. Personally I think Strife is doing a great job, being ontask every single day, monitoring the forum all the time (I dont know how he finds the time O_o). But yes, it is nice to see a bit of spirit in the task of maintenance and punnishment.

@Nika: I don't think of any of you as pests; I see everyone as having their own lives and troubles, just like me. The day I become blind to that, the day I start dividing people into classes of more or less deserving of the protection of the rules is the day I should retire (or at least take a vacation until I rediscover my humanity).
I try to ignore the cute aspect... don't want to be biased. Bad to mix business and pleasure, just leads to trouble. Plus if you do meet a cute one, ignorance can be fantasy bliss; knowing someones forum misdeeds can pop that bubble; it isn't fare to the other person, people act differently on the internet.
@Jessica: =^_^= The vast majority of the ResMods were furrs. I suspect the boot of oppression and social alienation that all furrs feel at some point is what made us good moderators (If you know what its like to be the down trodden, you probably look before you step lest you trod someone else down). The posts "I'm ARing this thread/post" are pretty annoying (FYI, ARs are anonymous), now I think about it I could split them out of the thread, consider them Private Discussion violations, or consider them flaming/trolling.
*gives a big kitty yawn* Time for bed...

I've been away and with no internet for several months now. I have been looking around for the last two weeks either expecting to be disgusted with dismal game play or just blown away with a new and exciting SL expirience. Neither has happened, one heck of a lot more people logged on at one time now but I find, that if anything, there might be a little less lag then there was before. I missed out on the sky and have to wait on that one, no new script functionality etc. Ho hum, same good ol SL, UNTIL NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW a non-scripting thread post about Strife that doesn't slam Strife!!!!!!!!!
SL will never be the same now.

From: Jesse Barnett I've been away and with no internet for several months now...... Welcome back Jesse. I did notice that you were missing. Was wondering if you was putting all your effort into Beta and Open source client. You can play with sculpties now if you ever get bored.
