Activate the Mulitverse and Universial repositories in Adept. It's in there, I just installed it on a new server install.
Thank you.:) I went down my list of repositories, enabled the first Universe repository I saw, fetched the list of updates, and there it was. I installed it, and disabled the repository. After that, I didn`t see any need to continue further down the list.:D

I usually keep it on. Some items (like recently, eGroupWare) are in those repositories.

I'm also getting the download dialog. Tried all the switches mentioned earlier.

EDIT -

Not sure what happened - could have been running an old version - now I get login failed/capslock dialog. I'm able to use the same ID and password to log on to this forum. Something's odd.

Aye, but I want to keep my distro as clean as I can.

Heck, I`d want to uninstall some of the stuff that installed by default, if I knew what was safe to uninstall!
I have KUbuntu Dapper, up-to-date. See Yet Another Newby Needing Help for Hardware details.

Arrow, if you want to try the preview client, you must use the --aditi switch when startig up the client.

So, instead of doing
CODE

./secondlife

you must do
CODE

./secondlife --aditi

Also, Arrow, the preview grid is only currently available to residents who got their account before October 16th. Dunno if that's an issue for you.
edit: Oh, I see it shouldn't be an issue for you.
