I'd like to get at least 4 confirming that they're coming, otherwise I think we should wait a few months a try again.

3 hour drive aint that bad :) just bring some music to listen to and well, maybe crank the speed up a bit and you can cut an hour off your travel time :P

I'm a Vancouverite too... any solid plans yet? :) I like the idea of a pub to meet up, myself... for those who don't drink, there's always non-alcoholic things.

Hmm plans doesn't seem solid atm... I am doubtful for this weekend I guess since we don't really know about definates... Cubey, Blaze, everyone else? Maybe we can set something up and make a list of people to discuss the plans in game even... that way we can probably plan it a lot easier too :D

Considering that we don't have more than two or three people confirming even that they want to come, I'd say we should postpone until next month or something. Whenever it is, I'll try to be there.

I'm in Seattle but wouldn't mind the drive. Consider me in.

It's 22 hours drive from me and I'm in BC! :-) But i'd probably come if I could. Particularly if this were on an april weekend closer to the beginning (say the weekend of April 7?)

For us South of the Boarder, do we want to try to get something together down here? Maybe in Belltown or Capital Hill? I wish I had seen this posting before!

IM me in game too!

A Seattle meeting would be nice, easier to make than one on the long run to Vancouver. Although I do love the Vancouver area. I am unable to make it north of the border until after the new year. And then it will be interesting due to weather.

anyone going to be up for anything sometime next week? my laptop is at Simply Computing on Broadway for service, and I'm driving down to pick it up sometime next week, I live in Powell River, and I'll be staying wtih a friend in Kits for a few days while I'm down there, and helping him rip a car to shreds before having it towed to the scrapyard. There are some great pubs in kits, I've been to a number of them, and anyone wanting to meet me in the downtown/kits area, let me know. Dump me a forum PM. You won't be able to contact me in-world as my laptop is in for service (it's the only SL-capable machine I have), and I shan't have it back until I'm actually in vancouver ;)

if you'd like to send me a text, or telephone me for arrangements, my number is 6044835077
hope to meet some of you SLers, and have someone to sit with in a pub for a change ;)

Anyone up for skiing?

I was thinking of heading up cypress and/or grouse for some skiing sometime shortly before christmas.

Here's snowpack at grouse:

Total Snow Depth: 133 cm / 53.2 in
New Snow Overnight: 13 cm / 5.2 in
New Snow Past 24hrs: 34 cm / 13.6 in
Freezing Level: 500 m / 1667 ft

Hopefully a few more runs will be open by then.

In the spirit of christmas, we've also decided to permit snow boarders to join us.
