Meet-up in AR/OK/KS/MO Area?

I think there may be a third one... my old band played a concert at the men's prison in Texarkana several years ago, and I am pretty sure the warden's secretary had one on her desk. But I don't think she gets to play SL on it.

There are a bunch of good restaurants that could accomodate us, anywhere from Fayetteville to Bentonville -- and from the people that have previously posted here, it sounds like that would be pretty centrally located for a lot of people. I'm thinking a Saturday afternoon?

OK, here's what we're looking at so far: I used Google Maps to create a map of the approximate location of everyone who has responded to this thread.



To me, it looks like the approximate center point is about where the four states meet, i.e. somewhere near Joplin.

Does Joplin sound like a good place to meet, say, 4 to 6 weeks from now? Anyone got plans that will conflict? Let's discuss. And Kalleb, yes, we know you like Joplin. kthnxbai.

Joplin is a little bit of a haul from where I live during the school year (I'm a prof, live in Sheridan). But it should work just fine from where I live during the summers (Ben Hur, Arkansas, Newton County). I'll so be there if others are gonna be!

KCK here, I'd be up for a meet, I spent alot of time in those area's when I was over the road, compaired to what I'm used to driving, thats a short haul, so where ever you decide works for me

Has this meetup happened? I'd be interested to know where it was finally decided...if it's Fayettville, my wife Endira Udal and I would probably be able to make it (we're in Little Rock), and we could drag a friend or two from f'ville who play as well. If it's further away than Fayetteville, then we'll be looking for a more central arkansas sort of thing instead, prolly.

I'm apparently only 4 hours from Oklahoma but it would have to be on like a Saturday and NOT during SLCC.

I'm located in Hogeye, AR. (roughly 12 miles south of Fayetteville.)

No, we didn't. I got busy with SLCC, and other RL things. We should start thinking about doing this, for sure.

Wow..didn't realize so many other people are from Missouri. Guess you don't think people would be turned on to secondlife in our area. Anyways, me and my husband live in St. Charles Missouri....meet ups are always a blast!

*howdy* Yayy so great to see people living along side the Mighty Mississippi! I always wanted to sugggest a meet-up in St. Louis, MO - that's kinda almost dead on center for the Midwest folk. A lot of organizations, musicians etc. rent out the Savvis Center (hockey arena) for huge events (would be costly I am sure) - and some use one of the many hotel banquet/conference rooms that are available. And while you are in town for the weekend, you could also tour other things in St. Louis - The Arch, The Zoo, The Busch Brewery (hahaha), Union Station, The Landing (many clubs and pubs along the riverfront), Museums, A Cardinal, Rams, Blues game (depending on what time of year). Well this is turning into a tourist advertisement for St. Louis... so back to the meet - up. LOL
I'm all for a meet - up in the Midwest! I dont think I'll make it to Cali anytime soon, keep brainstorming and if this ever gets legs behind it - let me know and I will for sure try to help anyway I can.

St. Louis, MO Is a good place!! I have been through there a few times picking up prisoners from up that way and transporting them back here.. I would like to visit with out having to drag someone along in irons....
