I'm not apart of live help. But is is right for someone to suspend you for asking a simple question. They said I was harrassing them when I was expressing my views on the topic. And I was suspended. By Adam Linden. I don't think that's because I do pay for SL. And i deserve much better respect. I think that if someone like Adam Linden, being PAID, to help me, did that that they should be punished for their actions. I think what he did was below pathedic. And when I tried to get help from other Lindens, as expected, they didn't believe me. I think this is a little corrupt, don't you? Now I understand why everyone hates Lindens so much... Especially certain ones, if you get the hint...

I am a SL noob so take this with a gran of salt. I think the key to your statement is right here: "when I was expressing my views on the topic." If the person with whom you were communicating said that they did not want to hear your views on the topic and you did not respect that, then it probably was harassment.
Another issue might have been the time or place that you chose to express your views. For example in RL attending a funeral and expressing the view that the deceased was not a nice person, would probably be considered harassment, because there is an expectation that funeral attendees general have a favorable opinion of the deceased. It is interesting that you chose to complain to other Lindens about the perceived unfairness, and were rebuffed. That happens in RL also, the next time you get a police ticket, go downtown and see how sympathetic the desk sergeant is to your belief that the cop that gave you the ticket was unfair. Probably the best thing to do is to block the person who reported that you harassed them and move on. I suppose you could also file a grievance against Adam Linden, but unless you have *compelling* evidence that you were treated unfairly, I doubt you will accomplish anything by complaining. |

If he didn't want to hear what I had to say, why is he a live helper? Better yet, why is he a linden? Harrassment is if I IMed him personally and attacked him with questions. This wasa live help box and his words were "If you don't call support or buy a landline, I'll report you for harrassment" That's childish, and I don't think Adam Linden shoul have been hired. I didn't have time to call support, everyone agrees with me on that. (they take too long) And I have probably the best internet connection out there. So why buy a dumb landline? That's pathedic.... and so is he... |

I told him that I think the new updates are really bad. I told him that it's not my computer (my driver, etc) that it's the update that is destroying my game along with A LOT more people!

Are you like the Live Help police? I don't care! I did have a question and he was not intelligent enough to understand it the first 3 times, so I had to repeat it in the best way I could 3 TIMES! And getting annoyed by this, I added my comment about the dumb update. And he STILL DID NOT UNDERSTAND IT! Being a LINDEN, he should know ALL OF THE ANSWERS! But he didn't, he had no right to have that last name or the title of Live Helper. Because he didn't HELP me in anyway.
Plus, if you don't have any good advice or anything, why are you posting on my thread at all? |

My good advice is "don't use the Live Help channel to vent at Lindens, or they may tell you to piss off and stop bothering them, plus it uses up time when they could be answering support questions from the rest of us".

Sounds like you were venting and most likley angry surly and childish. Live help is made up of volenteers just cuz you cant handle this update does not give you the right to berate others. I have a plain ole compaq preserio R3000 its over a year old, only has 1 gig of ram and a 100 gighard drive and this update kicks ass for me. And for the record man, dont tell people not to post in your forum/thread. its a public forum/thread and we will all damn well say what we want within the bounds of ToS and CS. _____________________

"Expressing your feelings" is venting - that's not what support lines are there for. You don't have a god-given right to express your feelings without someone telling you to shut up. I don't know exactly what it was that you said but based on all the combatative talk in this thread, I can imagine. For the record I've had some serious problems with certain scripts I've been working on since the last update but do I harangue Lindens on the Live Help? Hell no. What's that going to achieve? They're mostly on holiday for a start! The skeleton staff left is going to rewrite things? I don't think so! (I'd very much hope they wouldn't even try.) I've been on the other end of telephone support in my time and believe me, "customer service" does not mean "let the customer shout at you to work out their frustration". Shout at the wall or something. These are human beings on the other end of the IM. |

I myself have been haveing nothing but issues with the previous update,mostly seen effect the older regions like mine,sage,rose,plum etc..ive seen them go down around me ,but i figure it this way,they,ll fix it..im not going to complain to anyone on live help cause its an issue that the tech people will fix,im sure when they get back from the well deserved hoilday they got,they will get right on the issue,been here awhile now,have never had an issue with any lindens..they were very helpful with past issues i had..so be patient,it will be fixed...

Still, 1.10 pales in comparison to the evil that radiated from 1.5 ![]() There's a time & place for everything, man. I'm a Live Helper myself, and while I probably wouldn't have been rude to you, at the end of the day I'm just another resident just like you. There's nothing I can do to solve your headaches, and complaining to me just makes my job tougher. Here's the problem: Live Help is designed to answer quick questions. More complex stuff needs to be handled by support. Live Help != Support. Often, there are only a couple Live Helpers active, and 15 questions can all come in at once. When you vent in Live Help like that, what happens is that we're now soely focused on you & your venting, and not attending to the other folks that have questions. Venting may make you feel better - but Live Help is in no position to provide a solution to you, so what's the point? It just makes other folks who need questions answered wait longer. It'd be way more productive for you to pound out a letter to Phillip Linden, or email support - or call the office at the 800 number if you must. Then you're communicating your displeasure to the folks that actually steer the ship. _____________________

I am having problems with the update too. This doesn't mean I hate lindens as you said that everyone hates lindens. Second... I wouldn't call live help expecting to solve ALL my problems. You should expect them to maybe give you ideas or direct you to another way. You maybe dont realize these are volunteer residents that do their best to answer as best they could and help people in SL. It is not nice to be mad at them and if they dont understand because they are receiving too many IM's I think you should be patient and reconsider maybe getting an answer another way.
I have been crashing all the time and haven't been able to take pictures, and even sometimes saves notes. Things dont res or load. I wouldn't get upset with the Live Help because they can't sold my problems. Lindens dont have to know EVERYTHING. They are not perfect. They do their best, they research about the system to be knowledge. C'mmon be realistic. Why being so impatient. They are doing their best. I know sometimes I have been frustrated also for not being able to login or crash a lot. Why would I be mean and scream to someone in Live Help? or say hateful things about Lindens? Sorry, but I dont take it either. _____________________

I've had a few LH responses that were inaccurate but it was always involving a really odd issue and was quite understandable. In the long run the LH group does a massive service for the SL community as a whole. Your time and effort is greatly appreciated and Im sorry that you have to put up with people likeIces. Keep up the good (and valued) work you do and dont stress about the bad eggs. |

I've seen several rants in my reasonably short time in LH, most of the time they're from the most active community members or veterans - occasionally abusive too. You're not any more important than anyone else clicking the Help > Live Help button, everyone gets treated equally, no matter how big their problem is. Just because *you* are experiencing this problem does not mean the world stops until *your* problem is fixed. **Did I ask you?** Think about that. You asked everyone when you posted in the forums. Actually based on your other forum issues and your attitude in general id write a RL check in $USD to any Linden that can prove they are the one to perma ban you from the forums and game. For the record a regular liaison can NOT perma ban, they can only suspend, the abuse manager determines if it will be a perma ban, all the liaisons do is feed the abuse manager the information.
