I got the impression the other night that I may well be the oldest person in SL> I mean the oldest in real world age. I am 61 years old and have not found anyone else near that age.
So, who is the oldest person taking part in the wonderful escape from life?

I’m not there yet Oldman but it would be nice for LL to add an additional age category. 45 + makes up over 10% of the Age Band but yet the economic and lifestyle demographic can very widely for that group. Breaking it down using a standard metrix you capture the 35-54 age groups and then add the 55+. Or adding an additional group of 45-54 then a 55+ would help capture post retirement residents and better track the “baby boomers” participation. And even though we’ve been surpassed by the younger ones in total dollar spending at the retail level… we were the ones that bought them their first fracking computers!

Nope. You're not the oldest.
I'm 38.
*heehee*
See, you're used to the... um... various effects of aging. I'm getting used to them.. and still experiencing some of them for the first time.
In the past couple of years I have had to start wearing glasses, a denture, deal with high cholesterol and start going to a chiropractor!
I can almost guarantee that I feel older'n you most mornings!
All in fun, of course, but I do want to say that seeing you on SL makes me incredibly happy. I dunno why, it just does.
Come hang with me any time.

I have met one very nice 64 year old woman and have heard (but not met) of an 80+ year old woman. Apparently the 80 year old runs a wedding shop or service of some sort.

Where are all of these mature people? Why do I keep finding myself talking to 19 year olds. Maybe my avatar looks to young.....hmmmmm, an old avatar.....not sure I'm ready for that much reality.

I'm Old Too!

So, who is the oldest person taking part in the wonderful escape from life? I'm 59 in real life. I belong to AARP! I'm having a little trouble getting started but at least I can post questions now. Now that I'm here (SL) what should I do? I want to lead a virtual life that involves walking on the beach and sitting in coffee shops discussing cosmology. Maybe SL doesn't work that way. I have "The Sims" CD's which I'm saving till I'm tired of other games. Don't worry. I'm going to look for a mentor or some kind of helper tomorrow. Us old people need lots of sleep. Good night, Oldman. Philabee Wright.

Come hang with me any time. Hi! I'm 59. Still thin and in shape. What I wanted to tell you is that you'll probably go through a period of transistion as I did between about 42-52 in which everything seemed to go at once. But I got stronger again and and now am enjoying a nice period of good health and relative happiness. Just maintain your health by doing what you have to do and you'll probably start to feel better again. It happened for me. Good night. Philabee Wright

I am me
07-24-2007 12:48
and I'm 53. I most certainly refuse to define myself in other people's viewpoints. So I am not old, I am not young, I am not middle-aged. I am me. Serenity to you all Inc

Well I am a happy 46. And, I am really glad to hear that falling apart nothing works thing is a stage that ends quickly! So here is to growing older! Cheers!!!
I have been so blessed to meet so many people my age and older- Older means intelligent conversation on diverse range of topics, an appreciation for life, and great taste in music among so many other things that I can say are only positive! The youngest person on my friends list is early 30 something and the oldest 61 with the majority being in mid to late 50's.
