Per this announcement , please post here if you are interested in being considered for the first round of Resident Forum Moderators. The Community team has already nominated several possible candidates for the first round of the Resident Forum Moderators and we are also accepting volunteers. Please post to this thread if you are interested in being part of the Resident Forum Moderation Team. Volunteers will be notified shortly if they are selected. Volunteers for the first round will be accepted until Wed., January 18.
Okay, I wasn't going to do it, but since I found out you have to be "clean" and since I think I have a completely clean record, and since there may not be a lot of forum regulars that *do* have a clean record, I am willing to be drafted if Jeska or anyone is that way inclined.

Hows that for a qualified statement of quality qualifications? :)

I am not volunteering. I will not volunteer. If nominated, I will not accept the nomination. Didn’t someone already say something like that? :-)

Actually, I have no business in this thread but, since everybody else was posting, I just HAD to post.

:D

I'll also throw my hat into the ring (while hopefully keeping my head intact). I submit not only a cleen record and prior experience with online community management but a history of thoughtfull posts but a history of having the wisdom to keep personal disputes private, trying to keep debates civil and to stay out of flame wars.

It sounds like the Lindens will be making a good-faith effort to weed out people who will abuse their mod powers so we'll see where this goes.

Hi, I know I do not have many post on the forums, but I would like to volunteer for this position.

I have previously moderated forums before, and can have the owner of the board verify for me if you would like.

The reason I do not post much on forums is because I generally do not have imput on a subject being talked about. Reading though brings insight on issues and the like. If I do find I know a bit on the subject I will post what I know, and leave it at that.

Obviously, if I am picked as a moderator I would post more. This being because I would now have the "rights" to stop bickering and other squabbles that come about. Currently, I do not feel I have the right to interfere in the matter since I am not a moderator or administrator, and thus do not control what others do.

I'd give you my college credentials but a BFA in 3D Computer Art won't help me moderate a forum ;).

I'm not volunteering for this because I would suck at it. What a large and interesting group of people who are though!

Looking back, the forums seemed to me to be in terrible shape before Jeska arrived. I think she may have had the hardest Linden job there is. Thank you Jeska.

Moderating A Forum Like This Takes Alot Of Work And Dedication, If Done Properly. Thus Feeling A Moderator Of A Forum This Size And Such Should Get Paid For Their Hard Work Here. ;) Nice Of Those Who Volunteer For Such A Task :)

I cant help but observe that a few of the volunteers on this thread have been the authors of the a few of the most hate filled posts made on the SL forums.

If you let David in, then you gotta let me in! I volunteer.

You'd do a good job at it. I was preening myself over the good job I do moderating our DarkWood group forum - and then I remembered that I'm about the only one who ever posts in it... :p

Thanks for volunteering for the first round everyone. Please watch the Linden Announcements forum for the announcement of accepted names. Also, all eligible applications which do not make it into the first round will be placed into the pool for future ResMod consideration.
