I hate to be a forum cop, but really, this isn't the place for this.

Normally don't like outright plugs but I just boubht the most wonderful windchimes last week and was thinking when I saw the post.."Hey I spend 3 hours searching out windchimes and I know where the best windchimes in SL are" What a happy surpise to open post and see Slow Cirlcles Intents. Forgot your name, but remembered that. I agree totally, nothing came even close to these in my shopping trip, so it was an easy decision to come back to Slow Circles. You do have a great product, love the menu control and the total randomness of the sound. Other windchimes I found were fluff.

Disclaimer: I do not know original poster just really really LOVE these chimes.

Not so Dekka... I do not use looped sounds at all. Many others find that looped sounds might work as a functional set of wind chimes but I do not. I have scripted over 100 individual chime notes to act in "concert" as a *True* set of windchimes.

Well, the title of the thread has a question mark, so I'm gonna answer it: The best wind chimes in SL are indisputably Beatfox's "Zephyr" chimes. To scripters, they're pretty much the *only* wind chimes in SL: they're physical and react to llWind() and collisions, and they come with several tunings or you can tune each chime individually. Pretty much the last word in wind chimes, since long before I joined. At Luskwood General Store, Lusk 138, 173.

Aren't you glad you asked?

Hey man, that's argumentative.

Even if the OP is both blatant advertising and open to debate.

Can we please start cutting down on posts trying to sneak in under the subforum guidelines?

I am so glad you asked Qie! A little note on wind chimes that "React" to SL wind.... they aren't worth listening to! SL WIND is not a reliable source of input to govern the sounds of windchmes in SL!

Trust your ears!

wooo hooo!

Wow! What a coincidence.
I was on my mainland lot yesterday and heard windchimes. After camming around a bit I found them and looked up the creator. HAHA! It was you! I then pulled out my map and teleported to your place where I spent some time enjoying the place and spending some money.

You have a nice place and some very nice windchimes. But the silent people in the box above your store were a little "creepy".

Fair enough. FWIW, I was kind of hinting with my post that there might be a *reason* to post product info in the correct subforum--such as, oh, say, New Products--where argumentative little twerps can't reply. :p

As for llWind() as input to wind chimes: I make a little weathervane (no, I don't sell it) that samples llWind velocity and yeah, the in-world wind is a lot more varied than RL: changes direction gradually, but much more than RL, and velocity "gusts" and settles quite frequently--but it's good advice to trust your ears. To me, whatever Beatfox did with those llWind inputs, I find the results much more like real wind chimes: active when there's wind, quiet when there's not, on a cycle that's more or less authentic. Now, I'm not one to hold "realism" as much of a virtue in SL, but to my ears, wind chimes that chime more consistently get kind of tiresome after a few hours in the background. But others' ears may vary.

I also meant the OP, not that you were trying to sneak under the "be friendly and helpful" Torleyism. I'm also occasionally contentious, yet helpful in my own special way.

The first time I bought land, I ended up right next to plots set with both constantly ringing windchimes and a popular "environmental noises" box. The camel bells eventually went away, but I heard an owl hooting about once every five minutes until the day I left. I still hear it...in my nightmares! oooOOOooOOOoo.
