But Windlight i like alot. I rather have windlight then voice.

I never install optional updates and that seems to be the right choice this time.

Yes, but I gave the code monkeys the repect they did fixes. But i was wrong. Besides what i going to do is monitor this piece of crap. As I play and see if i can pinpoint the badcodes. Since the coders have failed to even look at the Bug reports. Shakeshead....

Wonders if they have chinese coders the don`t even bother to fix what is broken and break what is.

Just a few more years and you'll be able to type and spell at the same time..

well first look worked pretty well (yes the interface needs to be reverted, for those that dont have it yet, the interface is terrible and everyone who uses it will agree on that point).

However right now me and a group of friends are having issues with the voice just skipping out, as in the dots dissapear from everyones head and there is no longer voice capability, its happening to everyone at once and on multiple sims, so seems to me something on those voice servers just aint right, as per usual the first look works decently, and the main viewer kills it, are you sure you dont have the versions mixed up and that first look is actually the main viewer?!?!? LOL..

It utterly destroys any lighting subtly, it destroys the lighting on your AV especially prim hair and your face and clothing. It totally over powers all local lighting in a sim.

In effect it is yet another disaster waitintg to happen, so yes, we CAN start complaining about it. Maybe they'll actually make it work UNLINE voice which is BARELY funtional right now and the chatter box which is an ambarassment of a ui.

That definitely goes against anything that says that listening objects that spy or go spying on others isn't allowed and unwanted.

Now every little nosey bastard takes his cam, disables cam constraints and goes listening to talks on the neighbour's parcel or even the neighbour sims - cool.

Is that the next invitation for 'everyone spys on everyone' ?

For me that option is against the TOS that forbids spying - or does it mean Lindens self are thinking TOS are only a bit scritch on a worthless piece of paper ? Maybe that just means no one now has to follow TOS if Lindens self don't do it.

I don`t know about you. But windlight worked for me before. Why people said the lights never worked right. People that looking for problems that didnt not exist or just did not know how to use the lighting settings. And it will happen again and again and again. You can`t get perfecrt shades or shadows in any condition. If you think you can then you have no idea how light plays with objects and its backgrounds. I just hope the coders learned for the users misdirections of what is a bug in lighting and what is not.

I think the funniest thing is that I have yet to see one person who _wants_ voice, but they do this instead of fixing the horrible "failure to rez an object" bug that is costing people thousands of lindens daily.

Yes, and I can't (or won't)use voice until (or if) NB releases his version of the viewer. I stopped using the LL version sometime ago, and credit this for my lack of major problems in running the client.

Hi, guess I am the one person who wants voice. I enjoy talking. I have seriously bad carpal tunnel and typing all the time hurts like hell.

I suppose I could say, "Good for you, but my voice sounds like dying monkeys."

But I won't. We've already established pre-main-viewer that handicaps aren't a valid excuse one way or the other for voice.

That's because you keep forgetting to chew your food, and they keep trying to escape your maw every time you open it to speak!

For me, the new version was a huge MISTAKE. First time I installed it, I took one baby step and crashed. After that I lagged like crazy. Thanks for the link to roll back to the older version. After installing it. I have no lag. Well, no more than normal.
I shiver when I think what will happen to my lag with windlight if voice does this to me.

The new interface is a real pain.
I want the old style back.
Why is there a chat input line in the history window when there is allready one at the bottom of the screen.

And the bug with the recent items directory not clearing is still in.

I just deinstalled the new client after 10 minutes of using and went back to 1.18.0.6

i cant stand the new ui. just so happens i am not the only one whom enoyed being able to have all the separate windows, or multiple windows of inv open. i notice there is alot more lag on grid than usual. must be all the voice chat lagging the servers. there should be 2 versions of sl i think one for the children whom like voice and the adults that dont

Voice runs on its own servers not even related to the grid. Which would also explain why you can keep talking to someone when SL crashes.

I have not been on SL in about 3 or 4 days now, and I finally got some time to sit and load it up to enjoy myself - or so I thought.

I really enjoy chatting and using the IMs, and I have many friends on my list. The new combination of the friends/groups/IM window is ... without any doubt, the single most awkward "update" that I have ever seen. Now I'm not normally one to complain, but wow, it takes up 1/3 of my screen and I can NOT size it down past that. And when I want to see my friends list, I have to make it even bigger. This is really annoying. I can't even carry on a conversation now without missing what's going on around me because the window is so big. And.. I can't look at my friends list if I'm in an IM without switching away from my conversations. I normally have my friends list up during IM and I like it that way... now I can't.

...and don't tell me to increase my screen resolution, because that's not the problem at all. The problem is that they have combined 3 seperate tasks into one window and it is VERY awkward to move around in. I could *almost* live with the window size restriction, but I just can NOT live with the grouping of those tasks, it's horrible beyond constructive comment. At the VERY least, give me a way to undock them all.

Please... please... PLEASE... seperate the Groups, Friends, and IM window again. It has taken all the enjoyment out of this world for me. Oh yes, and the new volume control won't go away and it's covering up my HUD.

Is it possible to change this mess they call the this mess of a friends/groups/IM window. I don`t know why their had to mess with this part of the Client in the first place? Instead they should have focused on crash reports etc. I am not bashing or hate voice, but this whole mess if just been one big nightmare. I was looking forward to this clients release when it was hatched many months ago. But after seeing nothing but broken, crashes etc. and the lack of the debuggers figuring out why the client is crashing on mid to high end computer. Let me to the point I would stop using this client because of the lack of feed back from the crash reporter to debuggers. NO not everything is roses at all with this client. Nor should we be forced to deal with Crappy and uneeded addons. Midway thou this beta stage testing start to show. LLABs only wanted to release and really did not care about if it was useable. SOME day they get this client useable for most on SL. But until i will follow the path of a some and just revert back to the pre voice client. I never crashed on the client.

I want WINDLIGHT WITHOUT VOICE PLEASE. because i want to see the sights, and not crash and burn to hell with Voice.


Ok there is some will say " I never crashed with Voice" Well thats because you should test in all situations not just easy ones. There is always a few that really don`t understand, but then again its not their failure to understand why. Its LLABS problem that the client is not useable and should take more responibilty for their failures. And stop blaming the users for their own lack of support and or explaination why current conditions are so nightmarish.
