Gah a couple more I'm totally stoned out of my mind (on SL). I'm doing this in rotations like gymnastics or chapters of a book.

Undo DOESN'T work with Texture or Color changes rt.lindenlab.com #111967
From: someone
Steps to reproduce the bug:
Pick a prim, any prim, and change the texture and/or color. Go to undo it (using the workaround for Undo currently broken as I described earlier by deselecting and reselcting the prim).

Observed results:
Doesn't work!

Expected results:
Should work... would sure get peeps out of a jam if they accidentally recolored a whole house. o.O

This also applies to settings of Transparency, Shiny, Bump Map, etc.

Typing in Region autocomplete doesn't work as expected rt.lindenlab.com #111968
From: someone
First, I like Region autocomplete, thanks for adding it. But here's where the PITA comes in.

Steps to reproduce the bug:
Go to World Map menu. Click on a Region, any region. Then, say you change your mind and want to travel somewhere else, but you know the name. So, click in the region field so it's highlighted and hit Delete. Then, start typing the name.

Observed results:
You'll get as far as the first letter and then YOU'LL FLUNK OUT! FUHAHAHA. Specifically, after 1st letter the region field will get grayed out and focus will be inexplicably transfered to the main chatbar -- and you'll have to click in there again to type the rest of your query. EEEK.

Expected results:
You should be able to enter in a new region without fuss! <|8-)

Would just like to say a gracious thankyou to Lindens for hopefully looking through this whole thread and sniping off bugs as you go along. I like what I see and I hope to like it even better. The current IM usability issues are extensive for me so please, please look into providing better control because the IM prefs panel is threadbare, and plus, it slows down my speed of communication on here. Rippleshock is reading off at the moment. To reiterate, I never was fond of using clumsy little left-right arrows to scroll through IMs... I'd much rather have extra lines of tabs descending like in my web browser. So instead of this:

< [Resident Name A] [Resident Name B] [Resident Name C] >
NO NO NO!

you got this

[Resident Name A] [Resident Name B] [Resident Name C]
[Resident Name D] [Resident Name E] [Resident Name F]
[Resident Name G] [Resident Name H] [Resident Name I]
YES YES YES!

Make it way easier to carry on ten conversations at once. I know I'm not the only one. To my knowledge Firefox can't do this (unless there's an extension) but Maxthon most certainly can, it's a good example to look at.

IM tabs are a LOT wider. That's great to show names, but might be a good idea to have a setting for customizable width, or at least have it wrap to a Resident's name if they have a short one. So no wasted space. (The "New IM" tab could stand to benefit from this.)

Also, since you have IM mouseover glows enabled, how hard would it be to get an IM tab to GLOW and pulsate instead of ugly binary blink? It'd certainly be in theme with the smoothness of a liquid interface. Infact, it would be kewl to see new IM tabs glow in GREEN and then as they age and if you don't reply, they turn yellow and gradually red. But that can... wait. Hee!

And please, please consider tab-click options. A choice to double-click to close, or if that's too slippity, middle mouse button, would make better use of mousing devices (not unlike how scroll wheel makes zooming way more easy). Right now, it's kinda weird to have a Close button and also an X to close. Not to mention that IM windows don't recognize size after being torn off and then rejoined, and torn off again. But maybe that bug report can wait for later—

Good communication!

THANXAROONIE! :D

Good suggestions Torley, I like em! :D

I think it'd also be helpfull if clicking the L$ in the corner brought up your Account History. And maybe clicking the Time brings up Events or something.

Haven't had much time to test the latest client update, hopefully tonight I'll be able to jump in.

w00t thx Oz.

I cry yes for that too, that's so natural, since clicking on the land name brings up... up, About Land. It's a fitting parallel. And when are there gonna be easy sliders for draw distance? That'd be very useful to have nested to the left of Packet Loss, since most land names don't go that far on 1024 x 768 anyhoo.

Just making more use of the space given to the screen without it getting all cluttered and schtuff.

llDetachFromAvatar doesn't seem to work.

This is quite essential for making 'hud-enabled' objects. It would be nice if they could be automatically detached after you're done with the object.

Two more for the cancan, my fellow avatars!

Two-word Gesture triggers do NOT work ~cries~ :( rt.lindenlab.com #112299
From: someone
MY FACE IS ANGRY IN THIS PICTURE. why? read on... ^_^

Steps to reproduce the bug:
Select any Gesture you've got going and assign a two word (or more) trigger to it. For example, "watermelon". Confirm this works. Then, test again with a two-word trigger, such as "watermelon slice".

Observed results:
Gesture doesn't work. I've reproed this consistently with many varieties of two-word triggers. I'm sure I saw this working on previous versions of SL, but is now brokers.

Expected results:
Gesture should work.

Thanxya for ye attention to da bug report. y0. :)

View menu has several UI bugs that freak my pants off! rt.lindenlab.com #112300
From: someone
WEEEIRD STUFF. :)

Steps to reproduce the bug:
Look at View menu. Open Camera Controls and Movement Controls.

Observed results:
Note how there's not just one, but TWO separator lines after Mini-Map (THANK YOU FOR NOT USING "RADAR"!). Also, both Camera Controls and Movement Controls have some text in the background, like an appendix, that says "Drag Handle Title". I guess that's not supposed to be there, huh?

Expected results:
None of these glitches should be here, methinks!

AND NOW IS THE TIME FOR A... COFFEE BREAK AFTER ALL YOUR HARD WORK!!! Enjoy yourself. w00t!

All the better, after all as ya know these bugs gotta be squashed!

Putting them out here for public humiliation under the eyes of Lindens will have them terminated for what truely despicable cockroaches they are! Muhahaha. :D

Particle script in the sandbox started booting me out when I set the colors to fade from <0,0,0> to <1,1,1>. Every time I logged back in and went near the prim running the script it booted me back out. Previous to that the I was near the script with no problems.

From: Prims not showing shadow.

Steps to reproduce the bug:
I honestly don't know. I'm sorry, I tried to reproduce it, but couldn't.

Observed results:
One prim has a shadow, but 4 others, do not.

Expected results:
All prims should cast a shadow if Shadows is turned on (or whatever toggles it).

For some reason, I keep on thinking that this Preview is a VERY good idea... squash the bugs while in development.

Yeah, usualy theres a preview for every new version coming out. I think it helps users and Lindens mutualy. We get to see whats coming and get to prepare for it and Lindens get us bug testing, feature suggestioning and telling them ahead of time what does/doesn't work. :)

The open Previews are one of the reasons I love LL and SL.

Agree.

I may sound very critical at times—although not as much as Oz ;)—and indeed I am. However, I do this out of PASSION for LL and SL... if I was an apathetic dumbass I wouldn't be filing bug reports, and I am so happy we are all putting our bug reports up here and having fun! The crashes, the glitches, the screwy oddities and suchandsuch... ahhh they are all worth it in the longterm. I am so happy Linden Lab puts this out there for us, this experimental testbed, so that we have more of an active voice in saying what we don't like to see fux0red up! They really do listen...

Good example: "radar", scroo that feces. It's back to MINI-MAP now. HUZZAH!

Of course, it would be more efficient to compile a list of things that aren't bugged...much shorter list y'know.

Personally, I think that would be harder. That's like defining that a boat is leaking by recording every single plank in it, with deformations.

I once said, and I quote myself on this:
"For everything that's gone wrong here, it's amazing how many things are right."
Given that a few bytes of 1's flipped to 0's could totally mangle an executable, that's saying a lot. :)

A few more I just found:

From: All objects in all sims except for 3 appear Red

Steps to reproduce the bug:
No idea, I logged in, looked at my World Map and all objects with acception of
Kissling, Fame, and Georgean appear to be red.

Observed results:
All objects appear red at any zoom level.

Expected results:
They should not be red, they should be their colors.

Screenshot: http://oz.slinked.net/MapRedBug.jpg

Seems to be Server Side because others see the same bug as well.

From: Skybox obviously visible

A line is obviously visible on the skybox (see screenshot). At the time I can
see it the sun is setting and the line is to the right of the sun. It's a
discoloration slightly darker than the rest of the sky going up and down.

From: Land out of view distance visible in a line

See the screenshot. You can see some terrain line visible, as if I can see the
land above the hills land in Newcomb, but my draw distance isn't that far and I
haven't even seen that land yet.

From: Teleport: No Cancel button

It seems that none of the new teleport features are in 1.7. Inclueding the
naming of attachments on teleport and the Cancel button.

Oz, I saw All objects in all sims except for 3 appear Red but then came back few hours later and it was okeydoke. Then it happened again! Dunno why it does this.

I had Skybox obviously visible when rezzing in but can't quite see it as clearly as I'd like now.

Teleport: No Cancel button - weird one, this one. TPs seem to have taken a step BACKWARDS, so looks like they need to take the 1.6 goodness fixes and roll them in.

Also why the heck is the progress bar so low? It's like pants worn by Gwen Stefani!

Any surface with a transpearancy fails to render. (This makes for some wierd looking places.) Oddly, this does not include trees.

Editing a torus as a child object of a link set and changing its B: simple cut crashes the sim. (It's repeatable... I know, I repeatedly crashed Fortuna. >.< Sowwy!)

Shift-dragging a tree to make a copy crashes the client.

Yes im getting the tranparency thing too, interesting about the trees, maybe because they are not proper objects, im getting a similar crash if i find objects that have been dropped on a sim crossing, easier to reproduce if you cross the sim in the corner to get two crossing in quick succession

E1 Preview V1.7.0.27 Crossing a sim border my hair and shoe became detached has been received. Your request has been assigned an ID of [rt.lindenlab.com #112145]

Steps to reproduce the bug:

Crossing a sim border my hair and shoe became detached, they were left in the sim corner where i crossed as shown in the picture

Expected results:

Please dont take my hair and shoes when i travel

*******

E1 Preview V1.7.0.27 trying to move items left by bad sim cross causes client crash has been received. Your request has been assigned an ID of [rt.lindenlab.com #112164].

Steps to reproduce the bug:

In reference to (attatchents dropped in sim when crossing a corner) when editing and try and move the said items, it caused a client crash

Observed results:

The client crashed, sending a crash report

Expected results:

Either the items shouldnt be dropped by a sim crossing and/or the client shouldnt fail when they are

This one was pretty amusing once I figured it out...

Opening Map screen disconnects my Internet :( rt.lindenlab.com #119115
From: someone
Steps to reproduce the bug:
This is a VERY peculiar one, because I don't recall this ever happening in previous versions of the 1.7 Preview. Easy for me to reproduce: I open the Map screen, and wait a few seconds. Usually the regions will show as misty gray fog (as if they're going to load), and a few secs later...

Observed results:
Everything freezes and in my Windows taskbar, I see the following: Local Area Connection -- "A network cable is unplugged." No other Internet programs can connect until about a minute later when the connection is reestablished. I have to quit SL and start it up again.

Expected results:
Shouldn't disconnect me, of course! I'm in Second Life to be CONNECTED. =^_^=

I later wrote back...
From: someone
I did some more testing with this. Found something VERY odd and
fascinating, and think I have this one narrowed down!

What happened was this: I was playing with various Preferences, just
getting a feel for things. I decided to play with Proxy ones just for
the heck of it, even tho I don't technically need a proxy. I then
unchecked the "Use Proxy" box, and watched my Internet disconnect at
the Map screen again and again.

So what happened? Curiously enough, here's a "workaround": when Socks
v5 is checked, EVEN if "Use Proxy" is unchecked, it will disconnect
me. I experimented, checked Socks v4 -- and it was fine after that.

Weird huh? I hope you Bug hunters can make heads and tails of this! :)

Washed, rinsed, and repeated this many times to make sure it is real!

Hmmm... unfortunately the "workaround" seems to work for longer, but not indefinitely. I just got disconnected again while looking around on the map. Something's definitely going on. :(

Here's one that's more straightforward.

Skyline not properly occluded from underwater rt.lindenlab.com #119116

From: someone
Steps to reproduce the bug:
Go underwater. Look around. Look at the sun. Then, see if you see a solid horizontal bar in your underwater view!

Observed results:
As you can see from the screenshot, something's definitely wrong with this picture!

Expected results:
The whole skyline should be occluded and "darker" and "tinted kinda blue" when you're in the drink.

I call this one the PERSISTENT PARTICLE POINTER OF DOOM! rt.lindenlab.com #119119
From: someone
Steps to reproduce the bug:
Simple. Right-click on another Resident, select Profile, and then close the Profile window.

Observed results:
Your hand will continue to point, complete with particles, at the Resident, and not only that, it won't go away until you hit Esc key or perform another "disrupting" action to break the point!

Expected results:
Particle pointer should disappear and hand should drop down to the side when you are done viewing a Profile.

This, BTW, also happens with other windows like Pay and Rate.

Also confirmed with ReallyRick Metropolitan and Sonteeg Baskerville. :)

Here is my "I Don't Know if it is a Bug...Bug." I appear to be unable to see anything that has transparencies. This started maybe 3 or 4 versions ago. In the 1st photo below I am wearing a prim hair attachment and a prim cube on either hand with one being transparent. As you can see they are not viewable to me. Also on my end the bling that I am wearing does not "bling" and I cannot see any burst effects.

During the mini-stress test yesterday I was able to see the lights in the WA used for a night club effect until I left the WA and went to the sandbox. When I returned I could no longer see them while everyone else still could.

Previously people told me they could see my prim hair and bling, etc, until this morning when another avie took a snap to confirm they he could not see my hair, but was able to see the box on my hand, and my bling blinging.

In the second photo you can see me right clicking to indicate that indeed the hair IS on my head.

I have a Nvidia GeForce 6600 for PCI-Express and updated my drivers as instructed to version 78.01.

Wow the hair one is weird, i posted earlier about the tranparent items not showing textures, it also seems to apply to normal textures too, they either just dont load or load veryyy slowly, butttt they are not invisible they usually show in world with that lovely smoky grey texture.

My map was loading ok, but i've not messed with the proxy stuff, i would try now but i think the preview is busted, stuck at connecting to region
