You're right: these inappropriate uses of the terms "Nazi" and "terrorism" aren't funny at all.

I suggest talking to victims of the real thing might lend some perspective.

I have in the past, i've spoken with ppl from yugoslavia, from newyork, from the middleeast, from russia, the same regime that orchestrate these acts of terror, commited acts of terror in yugoslavia, under the clinton administration (wich was a bunch of war criminals) they sponsored alquaeda in order to destroy a once great nation, they created terror in there, now thats sick ain't it. But it shouldn't surprise you they also used alquaeda before that in angola. And the usgovernment supported and used many other terror sects in southamerica to overthrow democratic governments under the name of freedom&peace. I believe it's about time the american people wake up and start participating in democracy, instead of accepting to be ruled by a gang of terrorists.

None of this has anything to do with online gambling.

It has everything to do with it, the system we know as "us democracy" has become anything else than a service for it's citizens, the way it functions is if you pay they do your policy... in most european countries such practice would be considered criminal.... The gambling ban is just one example when rl businesses bribe politicians to serve them on behalf of their competition, it's prety clear that sl was becoming a platform for competitors of the us-gambling tycoons, personaly i received a few requests from european rl casinos to make slots for them within sl. If those european casinos were given afew months they'd surely create alot of problems for the rl us gambling tycoons, so i can give them credit for doing it now, while competition is still weak. Had they waited till 2008, banning casinos in sl would become a legal headake for them. Afterall SL is just a international platform, just like any ISP, you can't just ban content internationaly that's illegal.

Call me crazy but I'd much rather LL block non-US citizens just so we'd no longer have to listen to their continued strident, oh so thinly veiled, elitist whining about this.

I'm a non-US citizen and would appreciate not being lumped in with the elitist whiners.

From: Bobo Decosta
Noone will call you crazy, most non US citizens are not used to live under dictatorship. So actually i understand that what we call the voice of the people is in your opinion whining. If you are not used to freedom you don't understand the concept of freedom.

Being part of a group that likes to scream about the USA being 'a 'dictatorship' does not make you 'the voice of the people'. At best it makes you blind to the freedom limiting laws that exist outside of the USA, including some laws in countries that are EU-members.

Darn, wish I had time to get into this blog today but rl has a full line up of events on.
Surely slavery is illegal in the US..last I looked it was "illegal" perhaps not eliminated, but illegal. So how do they allow the gorean folks to continue, but the blogs have been up one side and down the other on this one. It is just nice to walk a familiar path in the blogs before I go into the rl which is generally more interesting and somewhat less complicated by US laws.
Cheers everyone have a good one.

I suggest someone change the title of this thread to "Internet Nazis Commit International State Terrorism!"

A better title would be ""Let's criticize and make assumptions about governemnts in countries we don't live in, while conveniently ignoring the misdeeds of our own in the name of self righteouus hypoctisy." A lot of stones get thrown from glass houses around here.

Maybe you should read the message before talking about blind people. Having weapons of mass destruction don't make them the voice of the people as well. Everywhere in the world bombs explode because of US policy. The dark shadow of the US starts to cover the whole world. The US now even interferes with MY free time? That's dictatorship because i can't even vote such stupidity to hell.

To start, i live in a country without weapons of mass destruction. If the US learned us one lesson in the past years it's : A country with WMD's is evil!

Cool message to send to the world when you are sitting on a stockpile of those!

Someone please remind me:

What do WMDs have to do with online gambling?

And how come that I have only been away for a few hours and the French and the British have been declared Evil?

What do WMDs have to do with internet gambling? Not a single, solitary thing but it goes back to a theory I've become increasingly convinced is correct during all this nonsense. Some people are using the "LL bans gambling" issue as an extremely convenient excuse to launch into their ever popular "Amerikans are dumb and BUSH is EVIL!" rants. I first suspected this when I attended one of the in-world protests against the ban during peak Euro usage time and watched it degenerate from "LL shouldn't ban gambling" to "This is all BUSH's fault; blah blah blah; fat, lazy, stupid Americans; blah blah blah; get out of IRAQ, you're the real terrorists; etc." Ever since then I've noticed that most of the "discussions" eventually trend in this direction. Rather sad really.

It is indeed, just as sad as people that for some strange reason believe that the government is there to prioritate protecting your rights over their own personal materialistic benefits.

Whats even more sad is that this thread has gone abit offtopic, but even more sad than that is the fact that americans wont stop gambling, and the socalled regulated usbased casinos enjoy the ride of the gambling ban.

Whatever. No seriously, have you put on a tinfoil hat yet? It's the only protection from "their" brainwashing rays, as I'm sure you're no doubt well aware.

It has a lot to do with internet gambling because it envolves money! It has to do with some country that we even allow to now to mess up with our own fantasies. And that country uses it's WMD's to enforce such things up on the whole world.

And that people blame bush for it is very understandable as people like him will eventually make it impossible to even get married online when they are already married in the real world. If we let the politicians from our first lives rule our second life, what do we even need second life for. Was it you that used words as blind? Do you really think it's normal that the first ever ban on something is gambling? There is fraude in-world! People loose items that are paid for! Such things should be illegal in a world where people discuss the banning of gambling.

I think it's also sad that you think you should let all happen what comes by

Has it ever occurred to you that playing SL, in one way or the other, also involves money that you are throwing directly at the vilest producer of WMD, terrorism, bad television, and French fries on any side of any ocean?

Just imagine - YOUR contribution to SL might pay for yet another country turned into parking lots by US troops! I cannot even begin to imagine how you can still find sleep.

I'm just trying to help a poor soul who is obviously unable to tear himself away from the clutches of the Evil Empire he so direly despises.

Alternatively, I might indeed go to bed now. Not a bad idea, come to think of it ...

Just imagine you could stop visiting all O/S internets sites too just incase you were contributing to evil, or pushing over of forests to make room for kids football fields, golf courses, shopping centres & housing.

We really won't notice you missing...............

What the hell is going on banning gambling, sploders etc!!

I do not live in the U.S, have no desire to live there or be governed by their knee jerk nanny state laws.

Please understand that most people are responsible for their own actions and do not have to be taken by the hand to keep them nice and safe, bottom line is, the whole of the western world is now so scared of being sued over the most stupid things.

Sl is supposed to be an environment where free expression and the right to do pretty much as you want is encouraged, but alas it appears that is not the case anymore.

Such a shame that is seems SL will soon become a place full of buildings with nothing in them, and people wandering around with nothing to do.

I am extremely jealous of you living where you do..Where I live, very few people take responsibility for their actions. You are very lucky.

Where I live we need policing because people steal and drug rehab because people do terrible things to their bodies with drugs. We have laws to prevent the greedy from completely enslaving the rest of us..its just awful how much interference it takes because people aren't responsible. In fact some people use freedom as an excuse to launder money and move it between countries. Isn't that horrible. I sure wish I lived where you do, where people take responsibility for themselves, it must be very nice.

I guess SL if more like where I live than where you do.. Count your blessings!
