By the way, I am never a smart alec. I have no sense of humor. Everything I say should always be taken totally seriously and completely literally. :p

Ahh my bad, i'll keep it on mind from now on ;)

The only issue I have with editing the XML files is that they are replaced every update. WTF.

When you click on a button like the general or network button in preferences now, the item with the focus flashes once. I don't even want things to flash once, much less blink off and on.

The mouseover glow renders a number of buttons nearly illegible to me when I have the cursor over them.

Thank goodness most programs don't have the LL interface design team designing their interfaces.

If you would really like to get rid of these or at least fake it.
goto Client > Debug Setting select ToolTipDelay from drop down.
set it to something like 1000.0. so now you will have to wait 1000 seconds before it pops up.

Yes, but some of us want the tooltips for scripting and setting the delay higher means waiting longer for those. We might as well just turn them off entirely (there's an option for it in the main preferences, I believe. Called "Show Tooltips";).

I don't think there is an option in the preferences panel to turn off the tooltips for buttons, IM tabs, and other interface elements. If there is please show where it is.

I bet you are thinking of the View menu's Hover Tips / Show Tips. The tips referred to there are those that appear when the cursor lingers over inworld items such as land or objects, not on UI elements. Different matter altogether.

Sigh, today LL used the "Press Control [ and Control ]" tooltip as the message of the day.
