When you are in the stop time mode your avatar is frozen still in place, right? Nope, i don't think so... what you see is just a copy of world in state if was when you opened snapshot panel, but in the meantime things happen at normal pace. You can verify it easily -- fly up, turn off flight so you start falling, invoke snapshot option. The world freezes for you, but in the meantime your avatar falls all way to the ground and when you close the snapshot panel, this is where you find them, not in the spot you were where you started taking screenshot. |

I had to take a bunch of avvy pics today. While I've taken a few before, and the "stop action" wasn't an issue for THOSE pics, it was a severe pain today. I also found that the flash is so bright that I have to close my eyes when I click the snapshot button, and I still see the flash with my eyes closed. It's how I knew the snap was taken.....after all, there's no snapshot sound until you either upload or save the pic.
PAIN! PAIN! PAIN! Please give us some options so that we can use the new features where applicable, and the old version where it suits. BUT GET RID OF THAT $%*&@@*&^ FLASH!!!!!! rd _____________________

Made Feature Proposal Re: Camera Option
08-09-2006 02:01
Hi E1 I made a Feature Proposal about the Camera Option. I realize some like this new way but I and many others don't so my proposal is to let us have the option in preferences to choose which we want to use.
The Proposal is #1768 so please E1 go vote and hopefully we can get LL to put back the old way too ![]() |

White Lightening!
08-09-2006 15:56
yep. flashing white lights while peering at tiny prims is not good. i'm boggled to think why this is an advantage. BOGGLED i say. The first thing that I thought of when I saw that flash was one thing and one thing only.... the new Mac computers that have the camera built into the monitor! Using the Photo Booth app, that's what happens when you "snap" a picture! PS- No i'm not saying I like it! I'm going to vote on the feature request now. _____________________

Yes I Searched Dingo
08-09-2006 16:05
Did you search first? 1683 was already there and it's a bit clearer, so I'm leaving my votes there and I reckon the rest of you blokes oughta do the same. Having one vote instead of two will avoid splitting the vote. Yes I did search and it didn't come up is why I made the proposal but even this web site has bugs so it figures I didn't find the first one. Torley if there is a way to combine the votes on mine can you do it please cause it doesnt make sense to split the votes. There is already 19 on mine when I last checked so if we can put them to the other propsal which is the same I would be grateful. Thanks ![]() |

Definitly! It would have been better if the snapshot preview window was a little bigger rather than the size of a postage stamp like it currently is (something along the size of the old preview window, or even better the ablity to adjust the preview size). But I am definitly not complaining, at least we finally get the choice of freeze frame or not and can see what is going on while we take a photo. And it is possible to switch between freeze frame and preview without loosing the current snapshot so if you can't tell if you got the photo you want just switch to freeze frame for a second to see. Not the best solution but it works. Regardless this is a great addition and long in comming.

Question About Accessing Photos
09-27-2006 08:49
Fairly new to SL. Before the new camera options came out, I took some pictures that are in my Photo Folder of Inventory. Since then, I have wanted to send some of those to a friend's email addy. I can find no way to send photos in Inventory, and I did not click them all as Send when I first captured the sequences.
When I took the sequences, I did not know how any would turn out, and never thought to send them to my email so that I could send selected ones later to friends. Is there any way to send a photo from Inventory to a friend's email outside of SL if you didn't use Send to start with? Thank you for any information you can provide. |

It is the same as saving any texture in SL. If you have both copy and modify permissions (which being photos you have taken, you do) all you need to do is open the texture/photo (double click on it in inventory) then go to the file menu in the upper left corner of the SL window and click on save texture as. Give it a file name and location and it will save the texture to your hardrive. From there you can now email it to anyone though the normal means.
