Bravo Coco I completly agree. You know I never cus in RL but some of these folks have pushed me so far that there are days I sound like a drunken salior in these forums. Out of simple fustration that they will never stop with the insults, belitting and attacks. Absolutly get rid of all that crap this would be a much nicer place if we all could just speak without being called a "cold heartless bitch"or much worse. Yes that has happened to me more than a few times.

Cristiano, I am just an example. I don't just fight for me, see. I fight for everyone. To be allowed to say their piece with dignity in these forums. To not be ganged up on. To not have personal things said about them, their mental health, or anything like that. To not be banned from the forums or banned from the game.

I am an example. I never expected to be an example. I never thought that standing up for another poster's rights, and for him to be treated with dignity, would end with myself being the next target. That it happened is all the more shameful for the forums.

NO ONE I have ever seen on these forums - nobody, not a one of us - deserves to be banned from the forums, much less from the game.

That very thing is an exact example of what I'm talking about. A person can be against Bedazzle members for showing nudity, and consider the approach to be a cheap one for the group to partake in.

You can consider it a classy one, or an ok one, whatever, if you like. And say so. But what you SHOULDN'T be able to do is say, "the poster is scared of nudity."

That not only does not follow logically, it is an individual attack.

Do you see at all what I mean?

I am not the only one who thought that Catherine was being rather overlly jumped on in that thread. Read the thread. There are people I have never heard of saying the same thing.

I'm no hypocrite. I ask only that people refrain from personal attacks. Which happens to be exactly what I do - I do not call people names or question their sanity, or say they are martyrs or any of that stuff.

The game will grow, and the influence of certain persons will become diluted. You can call that hyperbole; I call it pretty good analysis.

You defended the use of stereotypes as free speech when your friend was doing it. I even read as you proclaimed he was "diplomatic"! Hah!

Bottom line, It was ok then. It's apparently not ok now. I understand.

You can try to soften the meaning of those labels your friend made up, it doesn't mean that they weren't invented with the intent to make someone less than happy. The fact that some folks were offended speaks to that end. Look me in my virtual eyes and tell me you think that when the author coined the "FIC" phrase, it wasn't in a negative tone? That it's desirable to be "FIC" - this pernicious, Skull & Bones gang that are leading Philip and his crew by their noses? Color me confused.

I go off to play WoW and this happens. Geez, a girl can't take an afternoon to slay monsters...

LOL, nolan, no I said - and on more than one occasion - that he was UNdiplomatic.

And yes, he should have the right to make sociological commentary. I have the right to do that, too. I came in on his saga in the middle of it, so I don't know - but I myself would not have mentioned individual members. Would not then, and don't now - can't think of a situation where I would.

Edited to add: BUT . . . if his social commentary devolved into mentioning individuals personally as examples of the FIC, and/or their behavior as being examples . . . that STILL is a hundred times more benign, imo, than the things said back to him.

And - nothing happened to the people saying those things.

The problem, Cocoa, is it was speaking about a finite group of people - a handful that had posed for some nude art shots. The thread that called them cheap, also called them whores and prostitutes. That is what I referred to - the afraid of nudity comment is hardly an aggregious personal attack, but whore is. You can express your opinion that someone is acting cheap, but be prepared for the consequences.

Actually, on SLH you used the term "diplomatic" I did see the "undiplomatic" comment here, around that same time. I was bemused.
