[EDIT: Turns out I'm not retired anymore. Thanks for all your well-wishes!

As you may know, the avatar known as Cubey Terra is old and grey. Eventually, the time
comes when one has to set aside the business, sit back in the Lay-Z-Boy rocker-recliner, and put up the aching feet while enjoying a nice cold one.

As of today, I'm retiring as "commander" of Abbotts Aerodrome. It's been an amazing and enriching experience, engaging in almost unbridled creativity in Abbotts since February 2004. I'd like to send my thanks to Apotheus Silverman, co-founder of Abbotts, without whom the Aerodrome would never have been called into existence. Also I'd like to thank the mysteriously-absent Reitsuki Kojima, whose friendship and creativity was inspiring to me (where the heck are you??). And thanks to Chage McCoy, whose enthusiasm for the Aerodrome led to new aircraft, new security, and a piece of corporate artwork in the lobby that I can't begin to describe. Really, I can't describe it. :D

My corner of Abbotts will be empty for a while. When I figure out what to do with my massive inventory of aircraft and gadgets, I may build something new to leave there. I'll be around on occasion, though not very often. Although I won't be designing anything new, I plan to continue to sell Noir SkyLife skyhome kits (as Blanc Noir), and perhaps wander around as a tourist.

To all of the aircraft builders in SL, Abbotts Aerodrome has always been, and will continue to be, a centre for the development of cutting-edge aviation. I hope you'll all lend your support to the remaining members of Abbotts Aerodrome: Chage McCoy, Reitsuki Kojima, Apotheus Silverman, Rei Kuhr, and Arrekusu Muromachi.

Cheers!
-Cubey

I'd like to thank you Cubey for enriching my SL experience greatly. It's been a great run, anyone who knows SL should also know about what truths in Abbotts and the institution (and I mean this in the best of ways) that is the Aerodrome.

I don't think I've seen Chage's artwork in the lobby yet, but Cubey, I hope you do another walk around the world. That counts as touristing. :D

Bestest wishes and, o yeah, thanx for the DIY plane kit too. That sure filled a hole in the SL fabric of spacetime. And of course, watermelon-colored Tigershark+CLAWW is simply sublime!

I raise a glass to you, Cubey. Yours are the standards which all other aircraft are measured. :)

I'm glad you're not leaving SL altogether. I hope you rediscover that spark of ubercool that got you going in the first place!

Come by and visit now and again, k?

Oh dook! O_O! I'm like... blown away. Cubey, you're like... a legend or something. I just don't know what to say. I do hope you have fun in your retirement. And I do hope your aircraft will still be around to purchase too. Your ships were a big inspiration for me to improve my own building skills. Thanks Cubey, for all you've done. I salute you!

Cubey, even though I knew this was coming for a while...I still find myself in shock. Today, I looked longingly where your hangar used to be. It was there where I learned my real love of flying in SecondLife, and a rekindling of my love of aviation in RL. Before, I was a wanderer. I had nothing to keep me going in SL. But when I took to the air the first time, I knew where my true calling was.

I'm going to do my best to keep the spirit going, and I'm glad you havent fully left. I mean, where would SL be without the flying spork, the exploding penguins, and of course, the wonderful blend of Terrabucks Plywood blend? You kept going on when people said flying would never be fun in SecondLife. You didnt listen to them and you continued to make this world a better place for all aviators. The memory of your contribution and the shining example of Abbotts Aerodrome will never die, but for now, a peice of it has become dim. When you are ready to return...y'know, because I know you do, we'll be here waiting for you. The shining Knight to return to Avalon one day. Good luck to you Cubey, and remember that we'll always have a place for you here.

Best of luck, Cubey. You've set the bar here incredibly high, and it's a better place for it.

Awww, man... what'll SL be without cool new stuff from Cubey? :( Good luck, Cubey, enjoy yourself-- and thanks so much for all the good times I've had (and continue to have) as a result of owning your vehicles.

I shall continue to enjoy throwing myself off things with one of your parachutes attached - but now I'm apparently unable to get hold of your new MK3 teleporter (as the SLExchange delivery mechanism fails for some reason) which I had planned on using. As it appears to be mod+copy+trans, could someone possibly give me a copy?
