**Asri Falcone Hijacked(Idenity Theft)**

Hello everyone this is the "real" Asri Falcone and i wanted to clear up a few rumors/truths that have been floating around about me.

1. YES my account has been the brunt of what id call terrorism. Someone has been hacking my account and stealing from me.

2. YES i knoe who it is.

3. YES i have been working with LL to rectify the matter.

4. NO it hasn't been helping.


Here's the story. On july 8th(my birthday) i went to log into SL for my birthday party in LeCadre' and could not, kept saying my password was incorrect. I informed the lindens being it was the weekend nothing could be done at that time. So... i proceeded to enjoy my party on my alt.
The next morning comes and I am awoken by a phone call from my friend and partner Sensual Cassanova. aparently "I",Asri, was online in my store working on my vendors. When i arrived i was informed that this person on my account had purchased the asri account.(which i later discovered was a lie), however i didnt find a post on ebay trying to sell a high profile sl designer account.(posted BY this person).
Anyway back on track......Lindens took the account and locked it. yet when they reopened it B4 i could go to changing the pasword and such again ....the person was back...trying to delete my inventory(funny how at that time I didnt even know my PW the Lindens gave me but THE HACKER DID). Aparently B4 we saw this person the first time....they had already sold all my $L ....168k of which wasnt mine.(LL game dev funds)which it seems im being held responsible for. I did 5days later gained access to my account again however since then someone continually logs on to my account changing pw locking me out.In addition posing as me in emails,IM's and Phonecalls to LL Thank GAWD i bitch at them enough on the pone that they know when its really me.

So...now im with no money trying to rebuild my income.....SL is my ONLY income...needless to say i havent been able to pay my rl bills at all. Including having to turn down my acceptance to an education in video game design because i couldnt afford my last payment on tuition. So ill have to wait til next year's class. Also i have not been able to cover 100% of my rent for the months of July and August. Why not you say? Because on July 21st they did it again. everything i have earned trying to make ends meat was again gone. This time when i couldnt log on i imediately contacted LL.
Michal Linden assisted me and was very helpful in returning account access imediately but with 96L to my name it was too late. I was quite stuck at this point because i had started a 2k a day free raffle to help out newbies. I cant let them down. However, i am now the one that needed help. My friends and reletives and raffle regulars helped out there, keeping the raffle going with prize and monitary donations(THANK YOU GUYS....YOU RAWK).

But, where does that leave Asri? this weekend it happened again! Am I writing this because Im begging for money?...NO plz keep it! Im only writing it so that you know this type of thing is happening in SL....according to LL theres not a daymn thing you can do about it. Hopefully i have stopped it with Doc's help(ty), but since i can't post personal info here.. IM me inworld to get more info on this person so even if they get me again they wont be able to get my money or anyone elses off world. PS if you have bought my items and they werent in LeCadre' plz inform me. Once more and im homeless....they arent just messing with my secondlife...its my Firstlife thats killing me. i only ask that we rally together and watch eachother's back. this person changed thier ip everytime so locking them out each time doesnt help. and if i knew exactly HOW, i wouldnt Still be a victim of it. it may help if LL decided to make our logins be something other then our names. a simple pw crack program can find the pw if you know what to begin with.

I am so sorry this has happened to you. We come to SL to get away from the RL theft and BS and in our solace world it happens, tarnishing SL each time.

I would set up a separate email account just for secondlife and ask the lindens to flag your account if anyone calls for a password change.. like a security question that only you would know.

LL must of course take this very serious and as it are thieving... use the police..

I have been stalked at Internet and the police/interpool was very serious... let this be serious to.. ACT!!

Is it possible for LL to offer the option of only being able to log in from one IP address?

The sad thing is, LL can't do anything to secure this situation...at least not at this time.

Have you ever noticed you can enter in the wrong password as many times as you want?

We also tried to get them to block the account from being used by anyone else, they said it wasnt possible.

There was even a time where the thief called LL saying she was Asri, and LL did nothing to verify it, and gave the THIEF all the information she wanted...

I am really sorry this has happened to you - no one deserves to go through it. One question I have is are they getting into the account with a simple password hack, or through something worse? My password is secured - it is not a dictionary word, it contains symbols and numbers, but I am concerned that this goes beyond a dictionary attack on passwords (and why is it possible to do a dictionary attack anyway if it is?)

unfortunately under the privacy act in sl....LL cant disclose any info on my account nor this person...without a court order , yet when i contact the police they say i need proof from LL about the theft to file charges and to aquire a court order. (which i can not get without the proof) .....see what im dealing with here?

Oh my.. moment 22.. But LL must take care of this so the future will be brighter for us all.. and that it cant happen again.. the question are of course whos next???

LL must act... who want to do serious business in SL when this can happen us all??

In my case it was ”easy to prove” and they hunted down the man. But at that time this was so new that there was no prejudicats.. He are still out in cyber and IRL of course - but I am checked up often - still now after many years... no fun but. what to do...

The police only deal with criminal charges. That doesn't stop you any from hiring a lawyer and seeking the court order via an intent to file civil damages. Once you have the information, hand it to the police, and then they can go ahead with criminal charges.

It's a pretty sucky way to have to do it, sure, but the police can't do anything unless they have proof that something happened in the first place.

You say they're getting your changed passwords every time? Is this because they are hiting up LL? I remember a case when someone was hacking a freinds EQ account. Turns out He knew the person, and (get this, folks) used software the person 'wrote' for EQ. The guy did not have antivirus. Guess how many trojans came up when I installed AVG?

How are they getting your passwords? Do you have some type of trojan or something on your computer? Or are your passwords insecure?

at first it was easy....now its not but its still happening...regardless, i have eliminated all the "trojons off my system yet , im still being hit... and those were like "save" ad trojans

Do you have a firewall and AV running?

3 firewalls nd 2 AV.
what i find interesting is how the person got onto sl under my name "b4" LL had given me the new pw during the first insident.

Are you confident that your pc is secure, that you have no trojans?

im not savy in these matter but im pretty sure yet, confidence in my security in general i cant say i feel in anyway.

I am sorry this happened to you. I also think to best secure your PC you should back up your data files, images, word docs etc, but just those items, not your profile, and reimage your computer. I would reinstall XP and format the drive. That is really the only way you can be sure you dont have a keylogger or some other program running on your PC that AV etc can't detect.

...and seriously scrutinise every connection your firewall prompts you to allow once you have done that.

It pretty much takes an attorney to do this, they can subpoena the information from LL.

LL seems to want SL to be perceived as a place where you can do business, and where people can make some or ALL of their living. As things stand today, it's foolish to use SL as a necessary part of your income. Unless and until LL gets serious about this s--- and starts going after these people in court, SL is going to remain a toy. A very interesting one, mind you, but not anything that can be relied upon for necessary income, both from the small/fickle economy and from the fact that downright illegal access does not seem to be deterred or punished in any meaningful way.

Asri, I would suggest you reformat your computer and install your antivirus/firewall software BEFORE you take it on the net. Then, go to windows update and download all the patches.
