I say set the 'sell' at 1k per 1 us $
that way we can rid the market of excess lindens that the anti-stipend whiners are complaining about

Generally, I find the daily low the only consistently meaningful number, which is 272, because it's the only number that can not be manipulated.

This is a very normal fluctuation for a weekday according to my data. Almost every day there are short periods where the price shoots up a few lindens for a few hours. There's always people who want to make sure their Lindens sell today and so post at a better price than the current day's average. It's certainly not worthy of panic. Usually by the end of the day, the markets eat the sell orders back down to whatever the daily median price was.
Today the median price was clearly 273. Within an hour or two, after of the usual evening consumer buying the price will be 273 again. Heck, it might even briefly touch 272 again by midnight. And sometime tomorrow it will probably bounce around 275-276, at least for a time. It happens every day.
A much more significant question would be to ask where was the Linden a week ago at this time? Mostly it was trading around 278-279 a week ago. So we are looking at a stronger Linden then a week ago.
Like I said in the other thread, I expect the linden to bounce around the mid 270s this week. The earliest I could see it breaking into the 260s would be weekend, but I honestly don't see that happening. I think the Linden has reached the bottom of this little cycle and will have a tough time getting beyond 271/272, judging by the sell orders building up there.
By the way, who said it was going to 250? It certainly wasn't me. And I wouldn't describe my thoughts in the "Buy Lindens Now" thread as hype. They are meant to be playful predictions about the short term, nothing more.

Ya know its pretty easy to look and see how things will run on a day to day basis - and you don't even need a degree to make an accurate guess, just think 'what would any normal Joe do' -- and for me being a normal Joe it's not that hard.
Look at how much is for sale at the lowest available... folks have said 'if its over 500k I'm not gonna wait that long for my money!' - and watching seems to support that.
So if its over 500k then a lot of the money from your average user will go for the next price up... You get a lil breakout effect where most the money is added above and sorta bounces up and down till it's below 500k
Looking at Lindex now you have a couple of levels of 1 mil + to break through - so you can pretty much count on it bouncing up and down over a few cents for the next few days - given the same amount of money is bought and sold as it has been lately.
Nothing to see here...

Oh Siggy... nothing like logic and common sense to ruin a good panic.

More importantly, is gold "stuck in no man's land" as recently stated by a UBS analyst? Will a 14th straight rate hike by the Fed further bouy the dollar and continue gold's slide in investors' minds?

Instead of it falling into the 260s it is now holding at 273. Where's the panic? Where is the 300s? I want to buy then. I don't see anyone trying to hype it up to 250????

Great idea... As soon as LL tells me how many Linden Dollars are in circulation. Until then, forget it. As far as I know, LL has printed 2/billion Linden Dollars and will print another billion by year end..

From: Ranma Tardis You have the power to make them rich! *giggle* Them? I don't think so. My power is reserved for making me rich. Plus LL doesn't like it when people make more money than them using their technology. Go ask GOM how they got stabbed in the back by Linden Labs with their creation of LindeX. Personally, I think GOM should comeback and compete against LindenX on price. All these fees LindenX charges and restrictions of capping monthly sales at US$2000 sucks. Calling on the GOM Crew to make a return to SL... We need a market for trading L$ that isn't restrictive like LindenX and isn't retail like IGE.
