Removal of dwell for the right reasons with options in place would have been a good thing. Instead this was done souly for the purpose to keep US$'s higher against the L$'s. This in itself is not a good thing.LL is showing where there heart is $$. Secondly if it was also a plot to end a second currency from entering SL then LL is once again showing where there true motives lay. All in all its just another thing that LL can and will do. Let the chips fall where thay may. I for one will be a secondlifer in one way or another. Someone once said "The bottle neck is always at the top" I love the diversity of secondlife and truly secondlifers are one very smart very nice group of online people. In the end it'll be us the players that decide LL's fate. Hence without people coming in what good is a (game).

Heres an after thought. LL should reward those that have entertainment,Its what helps keep players active as well as players coming in. And yes any wise buisness firstly and foremost should be able to stand on their own merit whether funded or not by LL. Think about this we as players of secondlife set the social life, club, music, art and other activitys without those in place what is there to do ? Now in saying this no they shouldn't fund clubs fully but a little reward like dwell does help some if just a little. I for one coown a club and can fund it out of my own pocket till i get the buisness up to where it will help offset cost but in the end I'll decide what I want to do. I am here in SL for the social online life as well as my dear sweet ingame wife/RL love.

Well, there's several other motives I can think of: free play for fun and profit is one thing... but not even playing? Chair camping Zombies suck up bandwidth which LL pays for, removing dwell is a pretty effective way to reduce the ability for owners to reward that kind of 'non-play'. I'm not sure how removing dwell could possibly prevent a second currency from entering SL. If anything, the it may help make a second currency more viable.

From: Darque Angel LL should reward those that have entertainment,Its what helps keep players active as well as players coming in. Dependancy on LL is what LL is trying to shift away from. I understand it's been painful for many residents who have grown dependant on LL's various generous subsidies. But as SL's slogan indicates "This is your world, your imagination." All LL should be expected to do is provide a stable world. We, as residents, should act as the mechanism to make everything within our world work. The sooner this is understood by all of our residents expecting to be subsidized by LL, the less painful it will be for everybody.

The only thing dwell was good for to me was to offset that lil negative group stuff. So now group members may have to pay a few L to stay in the group if they want to. Other then that it has caused a huge camper problem with hundreds of people staying afk instead of logging. Its unfortunate that the system was abused by a small minority as I don't think it would have been bad if it was fair. I don't think there should have ever been any tier to it. It should have been flat across the board. That was perhaps the incentive to abuse it. But as a lesser of two evils I am glad to see it go. It will be a pleasure to see camping chairs go and the whole idea that you make money by sitting on your butt afk in SL.
I would also hope in the future that it wouldn't take as long as it did to stop a program when it is exploited.
