I think I'd rather see it split up this way:

L&E: Stipend Arguments
L&E: Land and Business
L&E: Humor

Considering how many posts fall into the first and last category... it'd leave the middle one for everything else.... hopefully without being watered down by as much.

Boy, isn't that true! :) However this poll turns out, it will be up to LL to decide what to do.

Perhaps we should create an entirely different forum system--separate form the SL forum--just for stipend discussions. The posts could be encrypted and made inaccessible to all! ;)

Sadly... "Yet Another Stipend Argument" will spontaniously appear in nearly any thread on the L&E forum, given enough time.

While there is uncertainty over the future of Stipends, and without a clear definitive statement from LL on the matter... people will continue to voice their 2cents worth, in the hopes of preserving/promoting their desired scenario.

I just wish folks would use existing threads instead of polluting the L&E with new threads on the same old topics each time... it's such bad forum etiquette.

Down with YASA.

I like the acronym YASA!

I must admit, however, I am guilty of committing YASA. :(

I started a thread that has become one of the top 4 threads (via post count) in the L & E forum. It sure seems that most of the points debated within my thread are being rehashed again in new threads. I know that this is the way it always works.

The real problem with too many threads on very similar topics is that new people joining the discussion may miss valuable arguments (from any side) in the other threads.

What can be done? Probably nothing other than what you suggest--better forum etiquette.

This will be my second to last post in this thread! Okay, I can hear a giant round of applause and maybe some yelling of expletives...

This poll will close in slightly less than 48 hours. I'll let it ride down the list of threads and simply post a final message when it closes this Friday, June 2, at 5:01 pm.

If you have not yet voted, please do so.

This Poll is Now Closed

This poll is now closed. Thanks to everyone who voted.

With 78 total votes, 75.64% of you want some type of structural change to the setup of the Land and the Economy forum.

The most popular choice was option "c". It received 34.62% of the overall vote. Just looking at the three change options (a, b, & c), option "c" represents 45.76% of that vote.

Option "c" is a combination vote that states the current structure of the Land and the Economy forum should be changed in the following manner:

- Create two new forums, one for non-business land issues, and one for business and economic issues
- Add a new subforum called Trading or Currency Market for discussions of the LindeX

It is now up to LL to decide how best to institute these changes.

Well they only have to click a few buttons to make a new forum. ^^

This is true. The real decision will be whether to move existing threads into the new forum. That takes more time as each has to be individually selected.

Sorry for the necropost, but I raised this issue over on my new forums since I have created them as an "homage" to the Official Forums as they begin to close.

Anyone still interested in this type of split, either let me know here or over at the Second Life Home Page forums...

Yeah, how come "shut all the forums down" wasn't an option?
