From: ReserveBank Division * Corporation Creation in SL with Stocks/Bonds/etc
It's being tried and while I don't have the exact numbers, I've not heard of this panning out into much for anyone. Maybe Shaun can give us a status? Regardless, it's not LL recognized because the RL legal implications are too large for a mid-sized company to bear for the time being. From: ReserveBank Division * A Stock Market Exchange to generate Linden Dollar Denominated Assets
Need further clarification on this one, as it makes no sense at all to me. From: ReserveBank Division * Converting Prims into Commodities to create baseline cost for Goods.
So every time I rez a prim I get charged? What about when i'm in mentor-mode helping a newb? What about the new who just rezzed a prim (subsequently to put it on his head, but I digress!) What about when i'm just showing a friend a new texture I bought? Or playing around building something silly with my friends with no intention of ever doing anything with it except hitting the delete button? Or the 5 million times i have to re-rez an object while working on a script...or guns or... yea...see it just doesn't work that way. I agree that this *would*, if possible, create a massive sink, but this is not a plausible option. From: ReserveBank Division * Reduce Land Supply to force high vaulations in real estate
So only businesses and rl-well-off people could own land? If that were the case i'd never have gotten my start. Thanks though. This would drive the newbs off faster than the panic-creators. *coughs* I don't see how any of these options would work to be honest. From: ReserveBank Division Actually, they are broke. They don't make a profit, they are living on "investment" money. Once the well runs dry, LL is doomed. *waves* Bye bye then. Don't let the disconnect hit you in the bling on the way out. I'll be sure to send you copies of all the articles that are printed in the next 20- 30- 40- years about Second Life. Don't bang your head on the desk too hard though. Seriously, though. Why all the negativity? If you really believe that LL is doomed, why stay? Why waste your time with a GAME when you treat it entirely as a failing economy. Oh and just out of curiosity, RBD have you read the materials that Robin provided with her last announcement?

From: Rael Riel How does a buyer get this amazing L$313 rate? Whenever I buy, I ususall receive right around L$300. Granted I just hit the buy key in the top right, and am not a big spender, but just last nite bought about $10.00 worth for a $302/1 rate Don't forget that the $0.30 changes what the effective rate is. With fee it does come out to 302/1. ($L3020 for $10.00) Without the fee it comes out to 311/1. ($L3020 for 9.70)

From: Perwin Rambler no one is loosing any L as they are setting the Sell price, therefore they must be comfortable with it.
Which ( to risk sounding like a broken record) is why the LindeX is not a currency exchange market. RL exchanges don't allow buyers and sellers to set their price it is set by the facilitating bank and to some extent controlled by the Central Bank. I posted this some time ago, but it subsequently got buried because no one likes to listen to sense. /130/ac/102874/1.html

See, the thing is, no matter how rare the slobovian dinger might become, people are not going to buy slobovian dingers unless they want to buy something that is priced in slobovian dingers. If you want to see the value of the Linden dollar go up, provide something that people are willing to spend Linden dollars on. If you want something in short supply, try Confederate money or something and see how valuable that is.

The volume of Linden sold on the Lindex by 10 AM today has already exceeded the 3 PM volume from yesterday.

From: ReserveBank Division Rename the Linden Dollar the: Ruble or Peso Combine them! Make it the Taco Rubio!!!! I think it's always more fun to think about how may Tacos you can get for a dollar. Then maybe Taco will apply his calming oven mitts to the lindex and smooth the rough waters - enticing people to stop looking at a certain LB's A$$. You know, I never thought I'd find something to agree w/ RBD on, but this might be the greatest thing ever.

So far, it's working out great. Thanks for asking. The Cyberland dividends have been terrific so far, and for the most part the stock continues to trade above our IPO price. You can probably expect to hear a lot more from us in the comming months. The Business Week article has been terrific. The only thing that I'm not so thrilled about is that Cyberland is still the only company trading on MSE after all of this time. I'm anxious to conduct more IPOs and really see what public sector funding can do for large-scale Second Life projects!

From: Hiro Queso Linden Lab also know that it's only a minority that would actually leave over a principle. A thin one, too. I won't leave, because afterall, I couldn't leave if I wanted to. I will stick to my gunds on the land store issue and the L$ selling issue, however. I will find some way to avoid using LindeX at all if they begin selling L$, and as far as the land store goes, FORGET IT! If anyone blocks my expansion, and LL won't move the sims for free, I'm SHARDING!

I need to cash out when I need to cash out, ie when I need cash. I tried to unload at 301 for 24 hours, then at 305 for 24 hours and then said "bugger it" and sold at the last trade value which was 312.
I realise I'm contributing to the problem by selling at this rate but I'm not in a poistion to sit for more then 72 hours when I need to sell. This sucks.
My proceeds estimate went from $325 to $309. That also sucks. Hard.

From: Jasmin Beeks take a look at the market, he's right. Go take your stuff and shove it up your pie hole, clearly you like it that way. From: Torley Linden Moved to Land and the Economy. 'Second Life's top economic mind' (self proclaimed) knows exactly where the land and economy forum is - where it's located - and what should be contained therein. By posting elsewhere (as the usually do every 2 seconds that the Lindex changes value) they are doing exactly what she's saying, trying to create panic. It's not an uncommon occurance for the OP to do this - in fact it happens with monotinous regularity. So while we're on the subject of whats in whose pie hole, you like the taste of crow?

From: ReserveBank Division Hahahahah... Don't get me started.. You know your prediction models never pan out... Hahahahah....
If we listened to you, we'd still be waiting for the run back to the L$270s.. Lucky some folks listen to the Ultimate RBD Guru and sold at L$270 instead of holding out for more and ending up with L$315.... Well RBD, it looks like my prediction was wrong and a day early. 305 maybe sometime late tonight.

Can I just post a general "I told you so", and have it count as something good? Not YOU specifically, mcgeeb, but "you" in the more global sense. There is nothing to panic about at this stage.

I gave fair warning of what the best thing to do was in another thread. I speak of those who were selling at 320-350. Selling at 311-315 isnt that much of a cut I think.
