Ooh! Thank you for the clarification. I asked a Linden in-world and was told that they didn't think there was any way to deposit and I'd have to sell L$. Someone should send out a memo so everyone is on the same page, as there will be a lot of interest in this new LindeX development. My hat's off to you for getting this feature implemented. Two thumbs up. It'd be terrific if the orders could be displayed side by side so that they can be evaluated properly without scrolling all over the place though.

You can also access this new function under the My Account page. In the right-hand side, under Currency, you'll see a link to "Increase Your Credit." I know it sounds like spam, but if you click on it, you'll find a very useful way to increase your US$ credit balance so you CAN participate in limit buy orders!

From: Shaun Altman I'm disapointed in you for not being more greedy. Aparently it isn't possible to deposit USD, so limit buy orders are more or less completely off limits to normal L$ buyers. Why did nobody start a group to dictate the price at which we'd place orders? It is possible to deposit money into your account: https://secondlife.com/account/manage_balance.php

From: Siggy Romulus Might just be me - but they appear to have borked the estimated proceeds for limited buys in the process.
I just had a look see and no matter what rate I put it, it spat back the exact same number for the estimate. As part of the general troubleshooting process, you might want to try reloading the page again, and seeing if it still happens. Keep in mind the estimated proceeds is exactly that- just an estimate!

From: Lawrence Linden Could you please give a concrete example of the values you're entering? I just tried various values and the values I chose all worked correctly.
Cheers, Lawrence 30000 for 1 gave back 96.50 30000 for 2000 gave back 96.50 30000 for 318 gave back 96.50 basically any rate I put in with 30k gives back 96.50 I'll try from another machine later

I think Lindens are here if a resident tries to sell at 10000 / usd, and another resident tries to buy at 350/usd; which rate will apply?(assume that there are no other sellers or buyers.) /139/61/108309/1.html#post1049189

I'll be in world, and I'll let the liaisons know. =) I also like your suggestion for the output format of the buy/sell. We'll definitely examine that for the next round.

Lawrence, just a suggestion but if you change the title of the column "Sellers at this Rate" to "Sellers" and the title of "Total Remaining Quantity" to "Quantity" you might be able to fit the buy orders along side the sell orders by reducing your column widths.

Yeah, the text on the buy and sell pages need some serious refinement. I'm hassling the web team about it now. From: Shaun Altman My hat's off to you for getting this feature implemented. Two thumbs up. Jeff Linden took this project and made it happen with help from the rest of the web team, QA, and Operations. I'll pass on your kudos. I'm off working on a secret project, but I still keep an eye on LindeX and this forum. From: Shaun Altman It'd be terrific if the orders could be displayed side by side so that they can be evaluated properly without scrolling all over the place though. Yeah, I agree completely, we can definitely clean up the formatting of those pages quite a bit. Cheers, Lawrence

I also like your suggestion for the output format of the buy/sell. We'll definitely examine that for the next round. I also have some more suggestions to improve the overall market experience for everyone, one of which could also lead to an increase in premium account conversions. Could you tell me which of you are on the active LindeX development team? I will drop a notecard on you, if you're interested in the feedback.

I'm sorry you had to do that, and naturally when we implement good features we always wish retroactively we could have had them a long time ago. =( On the other hand, you hopefully will never have to do that anymore. I hope you consider this progress forward! =)

Cheers, Lawrence I think I've found the estimated display issue. You are correct in that it's related to javascript on IE.
