I see that Jauani's post was sarcastic. As someone who sells land, his answer didn't surprise me, especially when land barons are being blamed for the price of land (not the laws of supply and demand). His post was hardly that insulting to warrant being told to STFU, being called clueless, etc.

Feel free to "see it" anyway you like. But the fact remains that you are not the one one being poked at. I posted a serious topic and it was made light of.

Dogspot could have reacted a lot of ways - he could have answered Jauani's sarcasm without dropping down to such a level, but he didn't. Two wrongs certainly don't make a right, but you overlook one while chastising the other. Not "lying there and taking it" doesn't mean reacting in kind, except in your book apparently. He didn't even react in kind - he acted a lot worse.

Thanks, Dad. I'll take it to heart.

You know, I don't even care about your reply. You can tell Jaunai to take a flying fuck for all I care. What irritated me is not your reaction, but Saint Cocoanut's admonishment of everyone else. As far as not being the one poked at, I have been poked at plenty - you have great points, many of which I agree with, you just often seem to descend into calling someone clueless/stupid as a retort, which doesn't do much to help. Jauani is horribly sarcastic - sometimes I want to drop a nuclear bomb on him. However, instead of just going "waah quit being mean, STFU", prove him wrong. Inside of his sarcasm was a valid point - that much of what you are attributing to market control is simple supply and demand that would exist regardless of who was in the land market. Forums, by their nature, require a thick skin and not taking everything personally. His saying congratulations on discovering supply and demand was hardly some horrific insult.

Dogspot Boxer, Please Report To the Principal's Office. Immediately!

My comedy sensor is going off.

It amuses me greatly that someone, who's presumably an adult would run off to Mommy & Daddy Linden to report that the mean, mean DogSpot insulted them and hurt their feelings.

The fact that someone would do that says more about this alleged community than anyone's post could.

I really do find it amazing that someone would resort to grade school tactics to "punish" me.

Whoever did this, grow up. This is the internet, not some genteel parlor where everyone is always nice to each other.

Land barons create liquidity
09-21-2005 15:58
Because there is a liquid market for land, if you set your land for sale, somebody will buy it. If you want to get out quick, set the price low and your land will be bought up by a land baron, sometimes within fifteen minutes.

If there were no land barons, then you'd either have to release your land for nothing, or wait until somebody wants it. When you decide to move, do you want to wait for weeks until somebody is ready to build on your land in order to get any value out of it?

Besides, I like having a lot of land to choose from.

Buster

P.S. I only dabble in land barony, I don't make any money at it.

I would advise you in a very friendly manner to listen to what Cristiano wrote above. Believe it or not, he is one person who has a lot of wisdom and I personally try to think very carefully on whatever he writes.

In any case, how you can consistantly tell me that I don't recognize bad behavior properly and yet you do, and then take me to task for it - I just don't get that.

I take you to task for acting holier than thou and taking other people to task in the first place. By the way, where was the provocation for this condecending statement?

From: Cocoanut Koala

DogSpot, they're just gonna live to eat you up; that's the long and short of it. You may end up saying things back you normally wouldn't say to anyone, and, if they are lucky, they'll get you to say something to report you on. And all the while they'll yuk it up among themselves like the cool kids they desperately want to be.

Freshman psych 101 rears its ugly head. I see, it is fine for you to be condescending unprovoked, eh? Again, the end justifying the means.

PS - loss of self-control sounds like a personal problem to me.
