I always thought it would be fun to start one of these threads, but NOW I JUST FEEL DIRTY.

It is up though.

Just in time for Stipend Tuesday where we can sell into
an increased valued linden dollar. Most likely causing it to
fall once again.

What you now see is the result of a market sell of L$1,000,000 and day traders reselling at ever increasing rates. No not place large block market sells if you want to stabilize the LindeX at the current time.

I can't wait to cash out my US $1.51!!!! Woo hoo! Drinks on me!*

* Assumes market value of L$320/US$1. Tax, title and tags not included. Void where prohibited. YMMV. Free drink offer void if L$ value falls below L$320/US$1 and in the states of New York and California. See our Free Drinks contract for complete details. </radio announcer voice>

You aren't the problem, it is the large number of alts whose sole purpose is to buy L$ at L$361/1 and resell at lower exchange rates.

No matter the short term static in the market, the fundamentals
in the Second Life Market continue to point to (Money Supply Inflation).
Which will continue the downward pressure on the Linden Dollar's
valuation.

Linden Labs continues to grow the money supply with zero corresponding
data that would comfirm the SL economy needed a money supply expansion.

In Aug/Sept of 2004, Deflation was a problem. Since Aug/Sept 2004, we've
had Inflation. And since March 2006, we've had Hyper-Inflation. Its about time
for Linden Labs to pull the emergency cord on the economy and constrict the
money supply like a miser until the excess is squeezed out of the economy.

Thats just life.. And its profitable. And until Linden Labs cuts back
on the stipends or restricts user membership to 1 per real life person,
its going to continue...

The only thing the removal of stipends did is removing pl from being able to buy in world products and killing content creators. You accomplished NOTHING. Except the slow death of content creation while ppl move to reselling freebies.

No. People can still buy anything they want, they just need to buy existing marketplace Linden Dollars off LindenX or Do something to earn Linden Dollars. Which in turn adds to the GDP of SL. Its a Win Win situation.

Unless people affected by it simply don't do either of these things -- if they were willing to do either of them, they wouldn't be until now relying just on their measly stipends to buy things. If they *were* already doing either of these things, cutting their stipends woldn't have noticeable effect. If there is effect... well, that's some part of income merchants can only kiss goodbye. And can't even counter this with price changes without alienating their still active customers...

make that a lose-lose, after all.

And buyers want a weaker L$ per USD so they can buy more per USD.

this is the whole purpose of day trading and you don't need an alt to do it. cause the only ones that know what any one particular person is doing on the exchange is LL and even if your using an alt they know who it belongs to.

I was kinda wondering why someone would create an alt to use the Lindex and not just use their main?

or are they trying to use their alt(s) and a main for some reason. I guess i don't get it only thing i can think of is that there are restrictions on the amount you can buy and sell per day (kinda) and you are trying to get around that by creating enough alts to buy and sell as much as you like?

i guess i am puzzled because even though i don't participate in it i did read the info and there are all these tiers offered as well

anyhow since the lindex looks anonymous to me I can't really think of any good reason?

meh okay i'm done..

For future reference ingrid, you sell your lindens first, then tell your close friends to, THEN tell the general public.
